Chapter 382

While driving, Joshua turned to glance at Shermaine, his expression calm. โ€œSheary, we just did it last night.โ€ He was implying that he wasnโ€™t much more energetic than she was if she was feeling tired.

Shermaine pressed her lips together. When it came to that sort of thing, Joshua was always insatiable. She liked to think she had decent stamina, but with him, she was usually drained by the middle of the nightโ€“always the first to wave the white flag.

Joshua added, โ€œNot just last night. The night before that, and the night before that too.โ€ Heโ€™d certainly been paying his dues, night after night.

Shermaine rolled her eyes and turned away. She muttered, โ€œJust keep your eyes on the road.โ€ Then, she thought with a frown, โ€˜Maybe I was being a little paranoid. Maybe Iโ€™d imagined it. But if I hadnโ€™tโ€ฆ!โ€™

They soon arrived at Royโ€™s place. The smell of barbecue greeted them the moment they stepped out.

Everyone there was from their usual circle. Ross had just been discharged from the hospital today, and Roy had invited him over. He even brought Danielle along.

Danielle sat in a wheelchair. When she spotted Shermaine, she waved her over. โ€œSheary.โ€

Shermaine asked, โ€œSo, when are you getting your cast off?โ€

Danielle replied cheerfully, โ€œNext week.โ€ Just a couple more daysโ€“she was almost there.

Over by the grill stood Ross, the ever-elegant heir, carefully tending to a pair of chicken wings. Since Ross clearly wasnโ€™t very experienced at grilling, the chicken wings he was carefully tending ended up slightly charred.

By now, it was no secret among their circle that Ross and Danielle were officially back together. Their love story in Lightspring City had become a heartwarming legend among their circleโ€“a much-told tale of deep devotion.

Shermaine walked over and began chatting with Danielle. Danielle handed her a cup of something warm and, with a twinkle in her eye, asked, โ€œSo I heard Roy fell head over heels for that queen of chaos, Molly, at first sight?โ€

Shermaine nodded. โ€œMollyโ€™s totally into guys like Roy.โ€

Danielle looked genuinely surprised. โ€œReally? I thought she had zero interest in men. Turns out, sheโ€™s into delicate, pretty boys with pink lips and pearly teeth.โ€

Roy did give off serious, soft, bunny-boy energy.

Shermaine took a sip of her drink and nodded again. โ€œIf nothing goes wrong, those two might actually work out.โ€

Just then, Joshua noticed the spread of raw skewers on the table. Without asking, he picked a few and headed over to Ross, who was manning the grill.

Tonight, everyone was paired upโ€“except for Roy. Roy never expected Henry and the others to show up with dates. Left as the only single one, he felt a pang of loneliness. He sighed inwardly, โ€˜Damn, I really miss Momo.โ€™

Feeling a bit left out, he recorded a video and sent it to Molly, who was in Ustrana, with a text. [Momo, everyone is here with their girlfriends except for me.]

Three minutes passed, and he received no reply.

Roy: [Momo, are you busy?]

Roy: [Momo, I miss you so badly.]

Logically speaking, it was around 9 AM over there, so Molly shouldnโ€™t have been too busy to reply to his messages.

Over in Ustrana, Molly wasnโ€™t working. She was swimming laps in her indoor pool. After finishing a round, she got out, wrapped a towel around herself, and grabbed her phone from the table. When she saw Royโ€™s video, she paused, slightly envious.

Because her friends, Shermaine and Danielle, were in it. It had been so long since the three of them had hung out.

Reading Royโ€™s message, her lips curved into a faint smile. She replied: [I was swimming.] Then, she instantly initiated a video call.

Roy hesitated for a second before answering, and the moment the screen lit up, he was greeted with the sight of Molly in a sleek black swimsuit, her smooth skin on full display.

Water still clung to her body, glistening as it slid down, and just below her collarbone, a small cross tattoo peeked outโ€“subtle, but enough to make his throat tighten. He quickly averted his eyes.

The view was incredible, but if he stared any longer, he was afraid he might actually get another nosebleed. And that wasnโ€™t an exaggeration. Roy had always been hopeless when it came to resisting Mollyโ€™s teasing.

Molly teased, โ€œDidnโ€™t you say you missed me? Then why arenโ€™t you looking at me?โ€
