Chapter 340
Kylieโs face turned ashen, then flushed under the crowdโs scrutinizing stares. Her most private secrets were laid bare for all to see. Shermaine had used this method to publicly humiliate her. Even if Kylie disregarded others' opinions, she felt a burning fury, a desire to retaliate. And then there was Klaus; Kylie still needed him and couldn't afford to alienate him.
Klaus's slap had left her dizzy, but Kylie quickly recovered. โKlaus, why so worked up? Everyone has their quirks. Compared to sleeping around, is what I did so terrible?โ
It wasn't exactly outrageous, but Klaus hadn't known about the numerous men she'd been with, or the unusual nature of her pleasures.
Kylie met his gaze, deadly serious. โIf you canโt accept me, then weโre done. But I can promise you this: when weโre together, my heart will belong only to you.โ
Klaus's anger evaporated instantly, replaced by guilt. He stepped forward, reaching for her. โIโm sorry, baby. I shouldnโt have slapped you.โ
โItโs fine. Kill that woman, and Iโll forgive you.โ
โConsider it done.โ
Shermaine watched, unimpressed, as Kylie effortlessly manipulated Klaus. A scoff escaped her. Klaus raised his pistol and fired, shattering the screen displaying Kylie's compromising photos. He then holstered the pistol and drew a combat knife. As a top assassin, he had never considered Shermaine a true opponent.
Shermaine didn't flinch as he advanced. People around her urged, โProfessor Jean, run!โ She smiled. โFocus on protecting yourselves.โ Klaus was just a top assassin; there was nothing to fear.
Kylieโs combat skills were mediocre at best. She had risen to second rank through cunning and Klaus's favor. Smiling smugly, Kylie watched with anticipation, eager to witness Shermaine's gruesome end, now that Klaus had intervened.
Molly had planned to deal with the assassins surrounding the building, but Roy had already eliminated most of them by the time she got outside. His only remaining task was disarming the remaining bombs. Roy looked harmless and delicate; Molly had assumed he was weak, but she was surprised by his skill.

He dusted off his hands, feeling satisfied. From the corner of his eye, he spotted Molly leaning against the wall, watching him with interest. His fierce demeanor melted, replaced by a bright smile, revealing a pair of canines.
Molly walked over, noticing unruly strands sticking up from his pink hair. She smoothed them down. โYour hair is a mess.โ It was the first time she had ever been so gentle with a man.
Roy was thrilled. Molly's casual gesture sent his heart soaring. If she continued, he was sure he'd faint from sheer excitement.
Just then, a downed assassin moved, reaching for a pistol. โGo to hell!โ Molly sensed the movement the instant he reached for the weapon. She yanked Roy aside as a bullet slammed into the wall behind them. In a swift motion, she kicked the assassin in the face, sending him flying backward in a spray of blood before he collapsed, unconscious.
Royโs hand was still in Mollyโs grip. The intoxicating scent of her perfume was so close; he felt the warmth of an impending nosebleed. Desperate not to embarrass himself, he tilted his head back, willing the blood to stay put.
