Chapter 35
Luka awoke with a jolt from a forceful kick. He landed on the floor, hitting his head, and the pain instantly roused him. Rubbing the back of his head, he opened his eyes, his expression gloomy, and stood up. He then saw me, red-eyed and tearful, staring at him with disgust.
Early that morning, Luka felt a surge of anger: "Sophia, are you insane?" He never imagined that after saving her the previous night, he'd be kicked out of bed the next day!
I froze at the sight of Luka's gloomy but handsome face, my tears ceasing. Shocked, I stammered, "Lu…Luka? How…how is it you? Wasn't it Gerald last night?"
Luka's face turned pale. "What? Do you wish it had been Gerald who slept with you last night?"
Dumbfounded, I recalled my kick, then lowered my head, mumbling, "I'm sorry!"
The back of Luka's head still throbbed. Furious, he asked, "How much is your apology worth?" My bare feet were exposed, and the sight only fueled his anger.
I sighed. "Then what do you want?"
Gritting my teeth, I pointed at myself. "How about you kick me again?"
Luka almost laughed angrily. "You're unbelievable!"
Knowing I was wrong, I glanced at Luka and said, "I'm really sorry. I mistook you for someone else in the heat of the moment! Didn't I mistake you for him?"
Unspoken Farewell at 30,000 Feet
Luka coldly snorted. "Couldn't you have taken a closer look at my face?"
I said with a guilty face, "My mind went blank. Besides, after last night… after you slept with me, how could I not misunderstand?"
Luka narrowed his eyes dangerously, his face dark. "So, it's my fault?"
I quickly shook my head. "No, no, no! How could it be your fault? It's my fault. Please forgive me, okay?"
Luka snorted, ignoring me. My eyes flickered. I cautiously got out of bed and took a step forward to properly apologize. However, I noticed Luka's dark gaze.
Startled, I looked down. I was completely naked. I froze, nearly falling off the bed in shock. Why wasn't I wearing any clothes?
I hastily retreated, intending to get under the covers. But one foot got tangled in the quilt, the other stepped on it, and I fell backward. I instinctively lunged forward, my mouth colliding with Luka's chin.
Luka had no time to react. The stinging pain in his chin was followed by the back of his head hitting the floor again. He groaned in pain. Two head injuries in one morning almost made him vomit blood. He gritted his teeth, "So-phia!"
I immediately raised my head, shrinking in fright. I quickly slipped onto the bed like an eel and wrapped myself in the blanket. I looked at Luka apologetically, whimpering, "I really didn't mean it!"
Luka's chin was bleeding; the back of his head ached. He closed his eyes.

He stood up, his voice tight with anger: "Yes, you didn't mean it. You did it on purpose. I shouldn't have…"
Luka looked at me speechlessly, furious, and turned to leave. He shouldn't have slipped into my bed last night. It was incredibly unpleasant!
At breakfast, Luka's face was still dark, as if someone owed him a fortune. While getting ready, I'd already called to investigate yesterday's events.
Though I suspected the truth, hearing it from Martin's mouth still chilled me. My mother had tried to force me into marriage with a sleazy playboy, using threats, drugs, and compromising photos. It was appalling. Could a biological mother truly act this way?
