Chapter 523

Esme had no choice but to set the flowers and fruit she brought on the bedside table. โ€œSorry to bother you!โ€

โ€œWait,โ€ Elara called out. Esme turned around.

Elara walked over, eyed the bouquet and fruit, then glanced at Esme. After a moment, she grabbed them and threw them at Esme. โ€œTake your stuff and get out! What do you think this is, a trash can?โ€ Elaraโ€™s tone dripped with sarcasm.

Alexander just pursed his lips, found a comfy spot to lie down, and picked up his phone to read the news.

Esme started crying. โ€œElara, you donโ€™t have to be like this, do you? I came to see Alexander with good intentions.โ€

Elara snapped, โ€œDonโ€™t you know what youโ€™ve done? I canโ€™t believe how despicable and shameless you are!โ€

Elaraโ€™s cursing grew even nastier. Esmeโ€™s face froze. She had just come to see Alexander. She knew she had messed up, so she came to apologize.

โ€œElara, you should speak politely! Honestly, in my entire life, youโ€™re the only elder Iโ€™ve ever seen with such poor manners!โ€ Esme shot back indignantly.

Over the years, Esme had put up with a lot from the Tudor family to marry Alexander. Now Elara still wanted to bully her.

โ€œI suggest you broaden your horizons!โ€ Elara laughed and kicked the flowers on the ground again. โ€œHurry up and get out! Just looking at you annoys me. How can you be so despicable and shameless? If I were the Russell Family, Iโ€™d keep you tied up at home so you wouldnโ€™t go anywhere and bring shame to your family!โ€

After hearing this, Esme couldnโ€™t hold back anymore. โ€œIโ€™m not a dog!โ€

โ€œHow are you any better than a dog? Get out, get out!โ€ Elara kicked the flowers and shoved Esme, pushing them both out.

Esme stumbled a few steps, almost falling to the ground. She thought it was over, but then she saw Elara go back to pick up the fruit and throw it at her.

The apples hitting Esme hurt a lot. Esmeโ€™s tears fell suddenly, feeling extremely wronged. โ€œI donโ€™t deserve this!โ€

Hearing this, Elara opened the door and said, โ€œBe glad itโ€™s the 21st century. If it were any older times, youโ€™d be dead by now!โ€ After saying this, she shut the hospital room door.

Esme was left trembling from the fall. When she looked up again, all she saw was the door to the hospital room.

Elaraโ€™s cursing voice came from inside the room. โ€œTruly shameless! Iโ€™ve seen shameless people, but never someone like her! Thank goodness I donโ€™t have a daughter like that!โ€

Esme clenched her fists, letting her nails dig into her flesh.

Passing patientsโ€™ family members and nurses glanced at her, quickened their pace after a look, and whispered among themselves.

Esme stomped her foot, covered her face, and ran away.
