Chapter 397

Without a word, he started driving. Amber swallowed nervously, glancing at his darkened, dangerous-looking face. Feeling a chill, she secretly tried to call the police on her phone. But Hudson was lightning fast. He snatched her phone, rolled down the window, and tossed it out without a second thought.

โ€œHey! My phone! Hudson, you lunatic! Why did you throw my phone away?โ€ Amber shrieked, furious.

The more Amber thought about it, the angrier she became. She started smacking him across the face, repeatedly. Hudson just shot her a look and kept driving.

โ€œStop the car! Stop the car, Hudson! If you keep this up, Iโ€™m telling my sister, and youโ€™re dead meat!โ€ Amber glared at him, fuming.

Hudson said, โ€œRelax, Iโ€™ll get you a new one. Weโ€™re almost there.โ€

Amber knew there was nothing she could do, so she puffed up her cheeks and stared out the window, seething. โ€œJust wait till we get out of this car. Iโ€™ll make him pay,โ€ she thought.

โ€œThis is it. You can get out now,โ€ Hudson said flatly.

โ€œDamn, this little brat really doesnโ€™t hold back,โ€ Hudson thought, rubbing his cheek.

โ€œWhy did you bring me here?โ€ Amber asked, puzzled.

She stared at the endless sea of flowers before her. It was breathtakingโ€”she never knew a place like this existed.

โ€œAmber, do you like this place?โ€ Hudson asked.

Amber was about to say she liked it, but then she remembered what heโ€™d done earlier. She spun around and socked him right in the chest. โ€œHudson, take me home right now! Iโ€™m telling my sister everything you did to me today!โ€

Hudson clutched his chest, taking a deep breath, barely able to catch it. โ€œAmber, canโ€™t you go a little easier on me? I donโ€™t even need your sister to come after meโ€”Iโ€™m already half-dead from you.โ€

Amber rubbed her nose awkwardly, realizing she might have hit him a little too hard. But in the very next second, Hudson started closing in on her, step by step. Amberโ€™s eyes widened in shock as she blurted out, โ€œWhat are you doing?โ€

She stared at him, stunned, backing away, her eyes growing wider with every step he took.

Swallowing nervously, Amber pleaded, โ€œI promise I wonโ€™t hit you again, okay? Just stop right there!โ€

But Hudson didnโ€™t stopโ€”he kept coming closer. Amber tried to push him away, but he caught her hand in his.

โ€œAmber, do you like that guy from earlier?โ€ Hudson asked, his voice low and intense.

Amber was about to snap back, โ€œWhatโ€™s it to you?โ€ but when she saw the way he was staring at her, she reluctantly answered, โ€œNo, I donโ€™t. Now back off and take me home.โ€

Her hand was still in his, his palm warm and wide. She couldnโ€™t break free, no matter how hard she tried.

โ€œHudson, let go of me! What the hell do you want?โ€ Amber demanded, her voice rising in frustration.

Hudson leaned in, staring down at her with that intense look. โ€œAmber, am I your type?โ€

Amber was completely caught off guard, frozen in place. She stared up at him in shock, eyes wideโ€”he was so close she could feel her face burning, both cheeks turning bright red.

โ€œHudson, back off,โ€ Amber blurted out, trying to sound tough, but her voice was shaky.

Hudson wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into his arms. โ€œAmber, answer me. Am I your type!โ€

Amberโ€™s heart raced like crazy. โ€œWhy is he even asking me this? Is he nuts or something?โ€ she thought, completely flustered.

โ€œNo, youโ€™re notโ€ฆโ€ Amber barely got the words out before Hudson leaned down and kissed her.

One hand held hers, while the other cradled the back of her head, deepening the kiss.

Amberโ€™s mind went completely blank, like sheโ€™d just been struck by lightning. โ€œHe kissed me! Itโ€™s my very first kiss!โ€ she thought in shock, unable to believe it.

โ€œBack off!โ€ Amber yelled, shoving him away with all her strength, her eyes brimming with tears and hurt.

She sniffled, wiped her lips furiously, and stumbled backward, her heart aching with humiliation as she ran off.

โ€œHudson, you psycho! I hate you so much!โ€ she shouted, her voice shaking with anger and grievance.

Hudson wanted to say something, but when he saw Amberโ€™s red, teary eyes and how hurt she looked, he just stood there, completely lost for words.

โ€œI likeโ€ฆ like you, Amber,โ€ he finally blurted out, his voice soft and uncertain.
