Chapter 384

Nathan pulled Vivian to her feet and guided her to the glass table. He opened the food containers one by one, and the aroma of freshly cooked pasta and savory meat filled the air, instantly making her mouth water. Just moments ago, Vivian hadnโ€™t felt hungry, but now, with those delicious smells, her stomach rumbled like an empty drum. She gave an awkward smile. โ€œThanks.โ€

Nathan handed her a fork. โ€œNo need to thank me. Iโ€™ve staked half my fortune on you. You canโ€™t afford to fail.โ€ Vivian took a bite of pasta and mumbled, โ€œRelax, I can only succeedโ€”failureโ€™s not an option.โ€ Their shadows overlapped on the wall, looking especially warm and intimate. Nathan looked down at her, his eyes soft with a tenderness Vivian didnโ€™t notice. As he watched her, a smile crept onto his face without him realizing it.

Vivian glanced at him in confusion. โ€œWhat are you smiling about?โ€ Nathan replied, โ€œYouโ€™ve got some meat sauce at the corner of your mouth.โ€ โ€œOh, really?โ€ Vivian reached up to wipe it off, but Nathan beat her to it, his fingers gently brushing her cheek. The unexpected touch made them both freeze. Their eyes met for a split second before Vivian quickly looked away, and Nathan cleared his throat awkwardly. โ€œSorry,โ€ he muttered. โ€œItโ€™s fine. Letโ€™s eat,โ€ Vivian said quickly. โ€œOkay.โ€ Nathan nodded awkwardly.

Three days later, Vivian returned home and was surprised by a number of new faces. โ€œAre you all new here?โ€ she asked curiously. โ€œYes, Ms. Hart,โ€ one of them replied. Vivian thought, โ€˜Didnโ€™t we already have enough staff? Why are there so many more people now?โ€™ โ€œMove aside,โ€ a voice called out from behind her. It was Amber.

Vivian grabbed Amberโ€™s arm. โ€œWait, why are there so many people at home? Whatโ€™s all this about?โ€ Amber pulled her hand away, looking curious. โ€œWhat else could it be? Theyโ€™re here to work, obviously. You havenโ€™t been home for days. I thought you moved out.โ€ โ€œIโ€™ve just been a bit busy lately,โ€ Vivian replied.

โ€œSienna, youโ€™re home too?โ€ Vivian called out, spotting Sienna and striding over. Amber reached out to stop her. โ€œDonโ€™t get too closeโ€”Siennaโ€™s got a baby on the way.โ€ โ€œWhat? Wait, what?โ€ Vivianโ€™s eyes widened in shock. โ€œSienna, are you really pregnant?โ€ Vivian blurted out. โ€œYes,โ€ Sienna replied.

Vivian stood there, shocked. โ€˜Siennaโ€™s actually pregnant?โ€™ she thought. โ€œSoโ€ฆ whose baby is it?โ€ Vivian blurted out. Amber was equally curious, staring at Sienna with wide, eager eyes. They both guessed it was probably Julianโ€™s, but since Sienna hadnโ€™t spoken, anything was possible.

โ€œItโ€™s mine.โ€ Julian strode over to Sienna, slipped an arm around her waist, and declared, โ€œThe baby is mine.โ€ Vivianโ€™s eyes widened. โ€œBut you two arenโ€™t even married. How could you justโ€”โ€ She thought, โ€˜Sure, having a baby before marriage isnโ€™t that rare, but Julian hasnโ€™t even proposed. Isnโ€™t that just acting like a total scumbag?โ€™

A flicker of sadness crossed Julianโ€™s face. โ€œItโ€™s my fault. Lโ€ฆโ€ Before he could finish, Sienna cut him off. โ€œIโ€™m the one who doesnโ€™t want to get married.โ€ Hearing it was Siennaโ€™s decision, Vivian didnโ€™t argue. โ€˜Maybe itโ€™s for the best. The baby will belong to the Hart family,โ€™ she thought. She was more than willing to take care of the baby.

โ€œSienna, marriage is nothing but shacklesโ€”itโ€™s a grave. Iโ€™ll always support you,โ€ Vivian said, her eyes full of determination. Sienna smiled. โ€œHow have you been lately?โ€
