Chapter 379

โ€œSienna, Iโ€™m starving! Iโ€™ve been on a plane for more than ten hours,โ€ Thorn whined, his eyes wide.

Sienna sighed and glanced at Elisa, who finally served him a bowl of rice. Julian, picking up a piece of sweet and sour fish, placed it on Siennaโ€™s plate. โ€œSienna, try this. We have sweet and sour fish tonight,โ€ he said, pointedly ignoring Thorn.

Thorn didnโ€™t mind being ignored. Genuinely starving, he devoured the food, finding it amazing. He scarfed down three bowls of rice, then picked up stray grains from the table. โ€œIs there any more rice? Give me another bowl!โ€

Finally full, he flopped onto the couch. โ€œSienna, you have no idea. The doctor said I was this close to dying!โ€

Sienna, sitting at the table, paused mid-movement. She didnโ€™t reply.

โ€œSienna, guess Iโ€™m just lucky to be alive, right?โ€ Thorn prompted, seeking a reaction. She remained silent. He didnโ€™t mind, rambling on unconcernedly while Julian listened.

Thorn stayed late, only leaving because Julian departed first; otherwise, he probably would have stayed until morning. As Julian was leaving, Thorn called out, โ€œHey, Julian, stop right there!โ€

Julian stopped and turned. โ€œI know youโ€™ve been staying here these days,โ€ Thorn said.

โ€œYeah,โ€ Julian replied.

โ€œCan you talk to her? See if sheโ€™ll let me stay here too?โ€ Thorn asked.

Julian frowned, his voice icy. โ€œThorn.โ€

Thorn shrugged. โ€œRelax, I was just joking. But hey, Iโ€™m not giving up that easily.โ€

The next day, Sienna attended a business event. By the time it ended, dusk had fallen. She wore flats, but felt unusually tired.

Suddenly, a girl yelled, โ€œSienna! You hit my mom, didnโ€™t you? How could you!โ€

A girl in a purple dress, with short hair and narrow eyes, rushed toward Sienna, poised to shove her. Miss Sienna Lana had gone to get the car, and in that instant, Tanya Duncan charged at Sienna. Sienna was about to dodge when her vision blacked out, and she began to collapse. Thom reacted instantly, catching her before she hit the floor.

Taniya froze, terrified, her face pale. She waved her hands frantically, shaking her head. โ€œIt wasnโ€™t me. I didnโ€™t do anything! I didnโ€™t even touch her!โ€

โ€œOh, I see whatโ€™s going on. Youโ€™re pulling a scam! Trying to play the victim, huh?โ€ Tanya shouted.

Thorn glared at Tanya. โ€œIf anything happens to her, I swear Iโ€™ll feed you to the fish!โ€

Tanyaโ€™s face paled further, and she trembled. โ€œNo, it wasnโ€™t me!โ€ she cried. โ€œSomebody mustโ€™ve seen what happened. I swear, I didnโ€™t even touch her,โ€ she insisted.

She looked around, but everyone avoided her gaze and hurried away. โ€œHey, wait! You guys have to back me up!โ€ she called after them. โ€œDonโ€™t go! Werenโ€™t you all supposed to be helpful and friendly? Thatโ€™s so cold!โ€

Thorn scooped Sienna into his arms and carried her to the car. โ€œArrest her,โ€ Lana ordered coldly.

โ€œNo, donโ€™t arrest me! Please, donโ€™t!โ€ Tanya cried, protesting her innocence as she was dragged away. She was close to tears, but none fell.

If Iโ€™d known, I never wouldโ€™ve come back. Who knew scam artists were everywhere here? Vallaris is just full of shady tricks, Tanya thought.

โ€œDoctor! Doctor, hurry! You have to save her!โ€ Thorn shouted, his voice echoing through the hospital corridor. He burst in, Sienna in his arms, panic etched on his face.

โ€œSir, please calm down and let us take care of her,โ€ the doctor said, trying to calm him.

Thorn was a nervous wreck, his hands trembling violently. โ€œYou have to save her,โ€ he pleaded, his voice cracking with fear.

Sienna, please be okay, Thom thought anxiously.
