Chapter 377

Paige stormed out of her mother's house, fuming and cursing. "They're all just cowards," she thought bitterly.

A sleek luxury car pulled up beside her. A voice called, "Are you Paige? Aiden's sister and Sienna's aunt?" Paige looked up, her breath catching in her throat at the sight of the driver's face. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"I'm her best friend. Hop in, we need to talk," the person replied.

The Quinn family party:

Claire grabbed Amber, pulling her toward the dance floor and shooting Jaxon a look that clearly instructed him to invite Amber. Jaxon, in a crisp suit, looked awkward, his charming face tinged with embarrassment. He took a deep breath, approached Amber in her elegant white gown, and asked, his voice unsteady, "Amber, would you dance with me?"

Amber bit into a cherry on her cake, her beautiful eyes fluttering shyly. "Me? But I'm really not that good at dancing..."

"It's fine, I can teach you," Jaxon said reassuringly.

Claire gave Amber a gentle push. "Oh, just go. School's about to start, and nights like this don't come often."

Amber hesitated, her voice trailing off, "Claire, I..." In the end, she took Jaxon's hand and let him lead her onto the dance floor.

Claire smiled, pleased. "Honestly, love is only fun when you're watching other people date," she thought, squealing inwardly, "Sunny college boy vs. adorable sweetie!" "Oh my god, I'm going to ship this couple so hard," she added, practically vibrating with excitement.

Claire was grinning, watching the pair dance, when a dark face appeared in her line of sight. She jumped back in fright. "Mr. Grant," she stammered.

Hudson's face was as dark as a thundercloud. He stared at Claire silently. Claire felt her scalp tingle. She was about to flee when Hudson spoke, his voice low and dangerous: "Miss Quinn, you really like playing matchmaker, don't you?"

Claire shook her head quickly, forcing a nervous smile. "No, no, Mr. Grant, I actually have something to take care of, so I'll be going now." "I need to get out of here, fast," she thought.

"Stop right there! Miss Quinn, I'm asking you to dance. You wouldn't dare say no, would you?" Mr. Grant said, his voice cold and commanding.

A chill ran down Claire's spine. 'Can I even say no?' she thought helplessly.

Chapter 377 (continued)

"I don't like touching women. Put on some gloves," Mr. Grant said flatly.

Claire was speechless. 'Seriously? If you don't want to touch me, then don't ask me in the first place,' she grumbled inwardly. "Who even wears gloves while dancing? Is he nuts or something?" she added silently.

"Fine, I'll put them on," Claire muttered, giving in.

She followed him onto the dance floor. 'Honestly, was this even dancing! There was enough space between them for a whole other person!' Claire screamed inwardly. 'Maybe he really is crazy,' she thought, rolling her eyes. "Total nutcase!" she grumbled inwardly.

Meanwhile, Hudson watched Amber, his eyes narrowing as he saw Jaxon's hands around her waist. Without warning, he grabbed Claire and dragged her across the dance floor. Claire stumbled, nearly losing her balance. She was about to protest when Hudson abruptly pushed her aside.

Jaxon was now in front of her. Amber, equally stunned, barely had time to react before Hudson became her dance partner. He grabbed her hand, pulled her close, and said, his face blank, "Focus. Don't mess up my dancing."

'Is this guy for real?' Amber thought.
