Chapter 355
Looking at the woman on the bed, he was struck by how much she resembled her sister, especially the eyes. Their expressions were different, though. This one had a dangerous glint in her eyes, a survivor. Sienna was colder, more aloof, as if the world was beneath her.
โLet me go,โ Winifred said, her voice laced with disgust when she saw it was him.
Fay sat down, his face a blank mask, but his eyes greedily traced the exquisite lines of her face. Winifred felt a chill run down her spine as his gaze crawled over her.
โLet me go,โ she repeated.
Fay let out a cold laugh and leaned in close. โLetโs start with introductions. You seem to care a lot about the person in my photo. Tell me, whatโs your relationship with her?โ
Winifred turned her head away. โI donโt know her.โ
He had expected as much. Fay knew she wouldnโt reveal her identity so easily.
โThatโs a shame. I was thinking, if you knew the person in the photo, I might do her a favor and let you go. But I guess not. Your motives are questionable, so Iโll have to take you back to headquarters,โ Fay said.
โYourโฆโ Winifredโs voice trembled with anger.
Winifred knew he was trying to corner her, to force her to admit her connection to Sienna.
โI told you, I donโt know her. It was dark. I made a mistake,โ Winifred said.
A knowing smile played on Fayโs lips. โGet some sleep. Weโll be shipping you off this island tomorrow.โ
Winifred shot him a venomous glare. I have to escape, she thought frantically. He definitely knows my sister. Heโll use me against her, and Iโll become a liability.
Sienna emerged from her room, wearing nothing but a silk robe that softened her usual sharp edges. Her long hair cascaded down her back, and the hem of the robe offered tantalizing glimpses of her long legs.
โLana?โ
โBoss,โ Lana and Reno immediately lowered their heads.
โI heard Winifred is missing. What happened?โ Sienna asked.
Reno stepped forward to report. โBoss, Miss Winifred left the country three days ago. Our people were protecting her covertly, but she shook them off after arriving in Meridia. Nowโฆโ
Siennaโs voice was clipped. โWhere did she disappear?โ
Reno replied, โA small alley. We found bodies there, and after examination, it seems Miss Winifred was responsible. The men belonged to Donald Davies. Davies was killed last night on an island in Eastria, where he had a factory. He was supposed to be meeting with Fay last night to discuss a partnership.โ
Lana added, โBoss, Iโve already contacted Fay and told him Miss Winifred is likely on that island. Heโs sent people to search for her.โ
Siennaโs cool gaze settled on them. โTell Fay he has three hours to find her.โ
Sienna knew Winifred had her own secrets and ambitions, and she didnโt interfere. But if anyone was stupid enough to lay a hand on her, theyโd pay with their life.
โYouโre both dismissed. Lana, send a message to those old fossils in the Noir family. If they get any more funny ideas, tie up their children and grandchildren and toss them in the ocean,โ Sienna said.
โYes, boss,โ Lana and Reno replied.
Just as they left, Julian untied his apron and brought the last dish to the table.
โDinnerโs ready. Letโs eat.โ
Julian came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist before pulling out her chair.
โMm,โ Sienna replied.
Julian watched her expression closely, ready to spot any hint of displeasure with his cooking.
โWhy are you staring at me like that?โ Sienna asked, looking up from her chicken soup at the man who was watching her intently.
A gentle smile touched Julianโs lips, his eyes full of affection. โYou look beautiful.โ
Sienna blushed and choked on her soup.
Julian quickly moved to pat her on the back. โEasy there.โ
She was flustered. It was like Julian had become a different person, constantly saying these embarrassing, heart-pounding things.
โJust eat. Didnโt you have other business in Meridia? You donโt have to stay with me. Go handle your own work,โ Sienna said, trying to change the subject.
โIโm not going,โ he said. โIf I have to worry about the little things, whatโs the point of having them? I just want to be with you.โ
Julian leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, his voice a low murmur. โI only want to be with you.โ
Sienna pushed him away gently, the tips of her ears turning red.
โJulian, you stop saying things like that. Someone might hearโฆโ was the only protest she could muster.
His hand found hers, his fingers playfully intertwining with hers. โAlright,โ he murmured. โIโll only say it when they canโt hear. Like right now.โ
Sienna fell silent. He was so clingy.
As night fellโฆ
Later, after Sienna had showered, she found Julian sprawled lazily on her bed, his robe hanging open as he read a book, one long leg stretched out.
Sienna froze.
Seeing her, Julian set his book aside. โLet me dry your hair.โ
โNo, thatโs okay,โ Sienna refused.
His robe was barely hanging on, revealing a sculpted chest and the defined lines of his abs. Sienna wasnโt sure if he was doing it on purpose or was just oblivious.
Her eyes drifted to his body, and her mind flashed back to the events of last night.
She cleared her throat to hide her sudden panic.
โItโs late. You should go back to your own room,โ Sienna said.
Julian moved closer, pulling her to sit down and picking up the hair dryer. โI want to sleep with you,โ he told her, his voice direct.
Siennaโs eyes widened.
โNo.โ She pushed his hand away.
His expression fell, his eyelashes fluttering as he looked at her with a hint of hurt. โNo? Well, at least let me dry your hair. Youโll catch a cold.โ
Sienna wanted to argue, but the warm air was already rustling through her hair, so she swallowed her words.
Once her hair was dry, Julian found some hair oil on the vanity, warming it between his palms before running it through her hair.
He looked down at the woman before him, at her flawless skin and beautiful face. Julianโs eyes darkened, but he continued his task.
โLet me give you a shoulder rub,โ he offered, his hands landing on her shoulders.
The pressure was perfect, not too hard and not too soft, and Sienna closed her eyes, enjoying the sensation.
She was just starting to relax when the sound of him swallowing hard reached her ears.
She snapped her eyes open to see him staring at her, his gaze raw with desire. His breathing was heavy, and a thin sheen of sweat coated his abs.
His deep eyes held a storm of emotionsโlonging, adoration, lustโฆ
Siennaโs mind went blank for a second before clarity hit her. She shot to her feet. โYouโฆ itโs getting late. You should go.โ
โSienna, I know some massage techniques. Let meโฆโ
She pulled away as if sheโd been zapped, refusing firmly, โI donโt need it!โ
Massage techniques! she thought. Yeah, right. She wasnโt some naive teenager who would fall for that line.
His intentions were written all over his face.
