Chapter 352
She leaned back against a chair. โHitting you wonโt change anything. Itโs time to go big. He wants me dead? I hear he has a secret base in Pyreson. Get everything we need. Iโm going to blow it off the map.โ
โOkay,โ Ryan said, his voice firm.
Winifred stood before a factory complex. She walked in alone. Moments later, the sky lit up as a massive fire erupted. One by one, several connected buildings exploded in a chain reaction.
In a nearby patch of woods, the factoryโs owner, a man named Donald Davies, was deep in discussion with Fay Santos. He shot to his feet at the sound of the explosions.
He watched in horror as his entire operation vanished in a sea of fire, his eyes wide with disbelief. He nearly fainted.
โNo. No. Somebody, help. Call the fire department. Put it out,โ Donald screamed, his voice cracking with panic.
Heart pounding, Donald stumbled on weak legs toward the inferno.
Fay Santos saw his productโand his dealโgo up in smoke. There was no reason to stay.
โMr. Davies, Iโll be going now. We can discuss our partnership another time.โ
Donald knew it was over. โMr. Santos, wait,โ he pleaded desperately. โDonโt go. Listen to me, I still have the formula. I can make more. Just give me some time, I promise.โ
Fay didnโt even turn around. โNo need. You should probably worry about the fire.โ
โNo. Fay, you canโt do this to me. Weโve worked together three times, and Iโve always given you the best cut. You have no conscience.โ
Donaldโs desperation turned to rage, and vile words started spilling from his mouth.
โFay, youโre just a lapdog for the Umbrella Organization. Do you really think youโre in charge? I heard your boss isnโt happy with you. Thatโs why they sent you to this backwater dump. You deserve this, Fay. You got what was coming to you.โ
โAgh!โ As he spoke, Donald felt a sudden warmth on his neck. He raised a hand to it and felt blood gushing between his fingers, impossible to stop.
His eyes widened in terror as he slowly collapsed to the ground.
Winifred had been planning to finish him herself, but someone had beaten her to it.
She was about to leave when she saw Fay pull a photograph from his pocket and gently wipe it clean.
Winifred froze. She recognized the person in the picture instantly. It was her sister.
โWho is this guy?โ she thought, her mind racing. Why did he have a picture of Sienna?
Winifred followed him. When he arrived back at a villa, Winifred got out of her car and trailed him.
As she crept toward the house, she saw the living room light switch on.
She hesitated, deciding to pull back for now.
โA guest should feel welcome to come inside,โ a voice called out. โWhy are you hesitating, miss!โ
Winifred stopped in her tracks and turned to see a young man with striking white hair. His features were delicate and ethereally beautiful, yet his face was a blank mask, his eyes as cold and lifeless as a machineโs.
โWho are you?โ Winifred demanded.
Fay took a slow step forward. โThatโs a funny question, isnโt it? You follow me all the way to my home, and now you ask who I am?โ
Winifredโs body went taut, her fists clenching as she prepared to take him down.
Fay suddenly turned his back to her. โI wouldnโt try anything. Youโre not leaving. Donโt be stupid if you want to live.โ
Only then did Winifred realize they were no longer alone.
The grounds were now swarming with people who had appeared out of nowhere, without a single sound.
โSo,โ Fay said, โshall we go inside and talk? You came here seeking revenge on Mr. Davies after burning down his factory. How did you end up at my home?โ
Trapped. Winifred had no choice but to lower her weapon. "I just have one question."
โHm,โ Fay nodded, looking bored.
Winifredโs voice was tight. โThe photo you were looking at earlier. I want to see it.โ
Fayโs expression changed in an instant, his face becoming a mask of dark, chilling fury.
