Chapter 346

Reno was right. If they slept together, it would mean marriage. She had no desire to be shackled to a childish, obsessed madman.

โ€œSir, I have the report. Eleanor Yeast has always had it out for Mrs. Ford. Earlier, there was a confrontation with Victor Noir. He and his people are gone now, and Mrs. Ford has Eleanor locked up, but something seems wrong with Eleanorโ€™s condition,โ€ Clark said.

Julian stared out the window at the full moon. โ€œExplain.โ€

Clark continued, โ€œAs she was being dragged away, she was grabbing at the legs of the men around her. It looked like she was poisoned. After a thorough investigation, I discovered she purchased Lustbane. She must have been planning to use it on Mrs. Ford.โ€

Julian shot to his feet. โ€œWhere is she now!โ€

โ€œMrs. Ford is at a villa in the suburbs. Her aide, Reno, has been researching eighteen-year-old, physically fit menโ€”just looking for now; no action has been taken. Also, Thorn Noir is heading that way.โ€

Clark finished his report and kept his head down, afraid of the storm about to break.

Sienna had been poisoned. And if she didnโ€™t want to suffer permanent damage, she would have to use that method.

โ€œGo,โ€ Julian ordered, his voice dangerously low. โ€œGet Thorn into a hospital. Just make sure you donโ€™t kill him.โ€

Clark looked up. โ€œAnd you, sir?โ€

Julianโ€™s face was a dark mask of fury. โ€œDo I have to report my whereabouts to you now?โ€

โ€œNo, no, of course not,โ€ Clark replied, backing away with a tight smile, thinking, "As if I donโ€™t know where youโ€™re going. The manโ€™s got no self-awareness. Sheโ€™s looking for an eighteen-year-old stud, and youโ€™re twenty-eight. Can you even perform? An old man..."

Clark snorted in disdain. The boss really doesnโ€™t know his own limits.

Thorn knew Lustbane was no joke. Even with Siennaโ€™s army of talented people, without taking the natural route, the drug would leave its mark on her body.

He slammed his foot on the accelerator. As he rounded a corner, a car shot out of nowhere. He had no time to swerve before it slammed into him.

Thorn was seeing red. Blind idiot. Doesnโ€™t know how to drive.

He scrambled out of the wreck, his hand coming away from his head sticky with blood. He gritted his teeth and roared, โ€œCouldnโ€™t you see the red light? Are you blind? Donโ€™t you have fucking eyes?โ€

A disguised Clark, now appearing as a woman, scurried over to Thorn.

โ€œOh, sir, Iโ€™m so, so sorry! Oh my god, youโ€™re bleeding! Iโ€™ll take you to the hospital,โ€ Clark said.

Thorn shoved his supporting hand away. โ€œDonโ€™t need it. Get lost.โ€

He had to get to Sienna. He didnโ€™t have time to waste on this.

โ€œSir, I canโ€™t run away from my responsibility. I insist on taking you to the hospital. Come on, if something happens to you, I donโ€™t want to go to jail.โ€

Clark practically manhandled him, forcing him into the car.

Thorn was trembling with rage, a vein throbbing in his temple. His head was pounding.

โ€œIโ€™m telling youโ€”โ€

Clark interrupted, โ€œSir, your head is still bleeding. Here, let me wrap it with my scarf.โ€
