Chapter 318
Then there were those in the middle, trying to smooth things over by suggesting Thor and Hazel should just get married.
But, without exception, Hazel always came out on top. Thorn could never outplay her or compete with her.
But Victor, who supported Thorn, was the biggest shareholder in the Noir family after Hazel. Heโd always wanted Thorn to take the Noir family back for himself.
Victor had no children of his own, so he treated Thorn like his son; Victor basically raised Thorn.
Sienna spread the word that Thorn was officially declaring war on her, and naturally, everyone who supported him started flocking to his side.
Victor was the most troublesome of them all; heโd been fighting Hazel for years.
And now, Sienna wanted Thorn to kill Victor.
If Thorn refused to kill Victor, then heโd have to stand with Victor and go up against Hazel.
It was do-or-die. Winner took all.
But what none of them realized was that in this game, Sienna was no longer just a player, she was already the one moving all the pieces.
Thornโs joy was completely shattered by the sudden blow. โIs she really going to be this ruthless?โ he thought.
Still not ready to give up, Thorn asked, โIf I kill him, will you marry me?โ
Siennaโs face was cold, her voice indifferent. โNo.โ
Thorn let out a bitter laugh. โThen whatโs in it for me?โ
โYou can take back the Noir Family,โ Sienna said.
Thorn clenched his fists in agony, eyes brimming with grief. โHazel, are you really going to force me into a corner? You know, all Iโve ever wanted is you."
โItโs always only been you. And you know Victor is the person I care about most. How can you do this to me?โ
Sienna turned aside, her voice icy. โThorn, you have only one option.โ
With that, she left, and Thorn was sent overseas.
Aiden, thanks to his good behavior, was finally released from the psychiatric hospital. But when he came back home with his bag in hand, he found everything was unrecognizable. Nothing was the way he remembered.
Aiden just couldnโt wrap his head around it. In less than a year, it was like his whole world had been turned upside down.
When Aiden walked into the house, Sienna was the only one there, as if sheโd been waiting for him. She was idly fiddling with a cup.
โDad, have a seat,โ she said.
Aiden walked over cautiously and sat down obediently.
"Sienna, I really know I was wrong. Do you think you can forgive me now?โ he asked, his voice full of hope.
Siennaโs eyes were icy, but there was a faint smile on her lips. โCome on, Dad, donโt say that. Arenโt we family? Letโs just let the past..."
He was so excited he could barely contain himself. โSienna, I knew you still cared about me!โ
Sienna said, "Letโs have dinner together. You know what you should and shouldnโt say. After dinner, Iโll have Ebert take you to the new house I bought for you."
โThereโll be people to look after you, so just enjoy your retirement there. If I ever want to see you, Iโll come pick you up myself.โ
Aiden didnโt dare say a word of protest. He couldnโt tell if it was fear of Sienna or if he was actually feeling guilty deep down.
During dinner, he fussed over his daughters, asking about everything, even cooking and putting food on their plates himself.
But no one appreciated it. Vivian and the others just sat there, completely expressionless.
It was only when Sienna spoke to them that they replied warmly.
After dinner, Aiden left the Hart residence and went to the house Sienna had arranged for him. But he wasnโt expecting a surprise visitor: his younger sister, Paige Hart, whom he hadnโt spoken to in seven or eight years.
โWow, Aiden, so this is where youโre living now? This place is way too small. This living room isnโt even as big as my kitchen back home."
โSee? This is what happens when you donโt discipline your daughters. They donโt respect you at all. Just look at the kind of life youโre living now,โ Paige said, shaking her head.
Aiden forced a laugh. โIโm doing fine, actually. By the way, what brings you back? Werenโt you living overseas?โ
