They held hands tightly as they entered the dance floor. Once inside, Julian’s large hand gently wrapped around Sienna’s sexy waist, and together they moved across the floor, their steps perfectly in sync with the music.
Julian’s eyes never left the woman in his arms, not even for a second. The sound of his heartbeat echoed in his ears, so loud that even the enchanting music faded into the background.
Sienna heard the powerful thump of his heart from his chest. A devilish smile curled at her lips as she looked up at him. “Mr. Ford, your heart is beating so fast.”
They took a brief break, standing still as they gazed into each other’s eyes.
Julian took her hand and pressed it against his chest. “It beats faster because of you. Without you, it wouldn’t beat at all, and my heart would never be moved.”
They were both adults, and neither of them was emotionally oblivious. A single glance, a single word, and they could feel the love between them.
Sienna’s breath caught, her usually cool eyes now tinged with surprise. Her red lips parted slightly. “Has it really only ever beaten for me?”
Julian’s gaze was overflowing with love, so intense he didn’t know where to put it. His Adam’s apple bobbed as the dark desire in his heart grew stronger. Her unique fragrance filled his senses.
Julian gently hooked his fingers around hers, slowly lacing them together, barely holding himself back. “Only you. And no one else but you.”
With their fingers intertwined, a charged atmosphere wrapped around them. Their eyes locked, the air thick with unspoken words, as if they had never been apart.
Sienna didn’t know what to say, but luckily, the music started up again and everyone around them began to dance–so she joined in.
She could feel his burning gaze lingering over her.
For some reason, her heart sped up a little, and she couldn’t quite explain why. Their fingers stayed laced together, tingling with electricity.
When the song ended, the crowd slowly drifted apart. The darkness made it hard to see anyone clearly, and Sienna didn’t even realize how she and Julian had ended up dancing all the way into a shadowy corner.
By the time the music stopped, they had somehow ended up tucked away in a hidden corner.
Sienna lowered her gaze, about to slip her fingers free, but in the next instant, a strong arm pulled her close, and suddenly, she felt the cool press of his lips against hers.
Her eyes flickered in surprise as Julian drew her into his embrace, hiding them both away in the shadows. He leaned down and kissed her.
Sienna’s fingers tightened slightly. She had thought it would just be a quick, fleeting kiss, but to her surprise, Julian parted her lips with his tongue. He slipped inside, tasting her deeply.
His breath was heavy, and the faint scent of him lingered in her senses. His broad shoulders shielded her from the world.
Sienna’s response made Julian’s heart skip a beat. The hand cupping her face was trembling uncontrollably.
She’s responding to me, he thought, his mind reeling. Julian’s eyes darkened as he deepened the kiss, a kiss they had waited ten years to share again.
Just like ten years ago, when she had leaned in to kiss him, it left him blushing, his heart pounding, awkward, nervous, and completely captivated.
After what felt like ages, Sienna’s neck was starting to ache, and her tongue was going numb from the long kiss. She shifted a little, unable to help herself–her body quietly asking for a break.
Julian seemed to pick up on her discomfort. Still holding her by the waist, he reached out and twisted the doorknob. With a soft click, the door opened to reveal a small storage room.
Sienna shot a surprised glance into the darkness, but their lips never parted. Julian carefully guided her inside and gently lowered her onto a narrow little bed.
In the pitch-dark room, they could only sense each other through the heavy, electric air, their breaths mingling in the charged silence.
