Chapter 292
Noticing that Hudson was still clutching Amberโs admission slip, Alex spoke to the security guard and asked him to take it inside for Amber.
When Amber received her admission slip, her lips twitched involuntarily. She had printed several copies herself.
โDidnโt expect him to actually be kind of responsible,โ Amber thought. โIโll thank him properly after the exam.โ
Hudson opened his eyes and anxiously checked his hand. Seeing this, Alex quickly explained, โMr. Grant, I already gave the admission slip to the security guard. Heโll take it inside.โ
Hudson breathed a sigh of relief, but as he remembered getting tased, he couldnโt help but feel both pissed and embarrassed.
After the party, Nathan didnโt spend the night in the car with Vivian; they checked into a hotel instead.
Vivian told him to go home, but he was adamant, claiming that since heโd taken the money, he was going to see it through.
Vivian worked until 2 a.m. yesterday, and now she was still fast asleep in bed. Nathan decided to go out and get her some breakfast.
But when Nathan got back to the hotel, Vivian was already gone. The front desk staff told him sheโd checked out and left about ten minutes earlier.
Nathan walked out of the hotel, feeling a bit down, and spotted Vivianโs car parked out front.
Vivian rolled down her window. โNathan, where did you go? I thought youโd already left.โ
Seeing Vivian, Nathan quickened his pace. โI saw you were still asleep, so I went to get you some breakfast.โ
โOh, thanks. Hop in. Iโll give you a ride back,โ Vivian said.
โSure,โ Nathan nodded.
Nathan couldnโt help but stare at Vivianโs flawless profile. She looked like she was glowing, her gentle aura making her seem almost ethereal.
She sat in stillness, a quiet sorrow clinging to her like fine perfume, and her presence was so striking it turned every man's head.
โNathan, sorry for troubling you all night again,โ Vivian said.
Nathan took a bite of his food. โHey, you paid me. Itโs just business.โ
Vivian glanced at him. โBut I heard your minimum fee is at least 30 thousand dollars. You only made 10 thousand dollars for one night with me. Isnโt that a bit cheap for you?โ
Nathan shrugged. โItโs fine. Weโre friends, after all. And Sienna doesnโt mind that Iโm from the Winslow family. Iโm already grateful for that.โ
โBusiness is business. Next time, if you donโt charge your usual rate, Iโm not hiring you,โ Vivian said.
โHey, donโt,โ Nathan blurted out, flustered.
Vivian dropped him off at the most luxurious villa complex in the city center. Though it wasnโt huge, it was still worth billions.
โDrive safe. And if you ever need anything, donโt forget to text me. Iโm just a message away,โ Nathan said.
โSure,โ Vivian nodded.
Just as Nathan was about to head inside, he spotted a familiar figure lingering nearby. He stopped, and Sheryl stepped out from the corner, a mocking smirk on her lips.
โNo wonder you can keep yourself out of trouble. It turns out youโve latched onto Vivian. Nathan, you really are shameless. You donโt even deserve to be one of the Winslow family,โ Sheryl spat.
Nathan didnโt look the least bit bothered. He replied calmly, eyes indifferent, โYouโre right. I donโt deserve to be one of the Winslow family. Iโll leave tomorrow.โ
Sheryl was fuming, yelling, โNathan, you really have no spine. Youโre such a useless loser. How could you let some illegitimate child into our family and even let him take over the company?โ
It was only because Henry took the blame for everything that Sheryl was able to get out. But the moment Sheryl was released, she heard the companyโs new heir was Adrian.
Someone who shouldโve been dead ages ago had actually come back to the Winslow family. Sienna was flat-out insulting the Winslow family with this.
โIllegitimate child? Please, Sheryl. He was born and raised by his mother just like anyone else. If anyoneโs got a problem, itโs Henry and his lack of decency.
โAnd honestly, now that I think about it, youโre a bastard, too,โ Nathan sneered.
Sheryl clenched her fists. Nathan was her brother, but when the Winslow family hit rock bottom, he was the first one to bail.
But now, Sheryl had nowhere else to go. The old folks at the family estate wouldnโt take her in, and she was flat broke. She had no choice but to come to Nathan.
โNathan, weโre family. No matter how much we fight, weโre bound by blood and bone,โ Sheryl said.
