Chapter 110
Siennaโs gaze was deep and unwavering as she gently stroked Noraโs hair. โItโs alright. Do whatever you want, donโt worry about anyone else or anything else. Youโre not indecisive, youโre just afraid of failing. Nora, donโt doubt yourself. In my eyes, youโre the best. Iโll always have your back. Those tens of millions in Sinclair family dividends every month mean nothing to me. If you want, Iโll give you a few companies of your own. Didnโt you say you wanted to be strong and independent? Then go for it.โ
Warmth bloomed in Noraโs chest, melting away the cold knot of pain.
With her eyes still red and puffy, she sniffled and looked up at Sienna, her lips curling into a pout.
โYouโre just saying that to cheer me up. Enna, youโre the worst.โ
Nora thought, โIโm just a total slacker, a little couch potato who canโt do anything right.โ
โI thought I was a genius, but ended up losing three million dollars. After my brother chewed me out, I finally learned my lesson.โ
โHe always told me to stay a pampered little rich girl and stop trying to be something Iโm not.โ
โIf I ever acted up again, heโd threaten to cut off my allowance! But honestly, he never actually did.โ
โDonโt sell yourself short, Nora,โ Sienna said. โEven if you get divorced, you wonโt miss anything. Ethanโs come to me several times, but Iโve always turned him away. Just be real with me, whatโs going on?โ
Nora took a deep breath, steadying herself, and looked at Sienna seriously. โEthanโs been cheating emotionally. Thereโs a girl at his company, Aria Dalton. Sheโs younger than me. Iโve known for years that something was off between them. I tried everything to stop it, but it just made me paranoid. I want a divorce, but I donโt want my son to grow up without a father.โ
Sienna couldnโt help but twitch her lips. โNora, youโre getting a divorce, not killing anyone. What do you mean, โno fatherโ? Even if you split up, heโs still your kidโs father. He canโt just walk away from that.โ
Then, as if something occurred to her, she asked, โWait, donโt tell me youโre thinking about walking away with nothing?โ
If that was the case, then Nora mustโve gotten completely brainwashed by marriage all these years.
Nora stared at Sienna with big, blank eyes and blurted out, โIsnโt that how itโs supposed to work? I mean, Iโm already taking the kid with me.โ
Sienna took a long, deep breath, almost losing it. She shut her eyes, refusing to look at Nora, praying this was just her imagination.
She pressed her hand to her forehead, eyes closed, as if trying to ward off a headache. Seeing this, Nora reached out, worried. โEnna, are you okay? Does your head hurt?โ
Sienna exhaled slowly.
โSo, the real reason you donโt want to divorce is because youโre afraid of being broke?โ she asked.
Nora looked conflicted, then gave a small, reluctant nod.
Ethanโs black card, dividends from her family company, a two-million-dollar allowance from her parents and brother every month, plus multiple properties, a dozen villas, and luxury cars. Aside from all that, she was โbroke.โ
Sienna closed her eyes again and leaned her head back, seriously questioning her sanity for even sitting here and listening to this nonsense.
โEnna, are you feeling unwell? Should I call Jason over to take a look at you?โ Nora asked, her voice full of concern.
Sienna didnโt even want to respond. Inside, her mind was in utter chaosโshe was so speechless, she didnโt know whether to laugh or cry.
โForget it,โ Sienna said, shaking her head. โListen. If you divorce, youโll take half of Ethanโs assets, and heโll still owe you alimony. You could live a thousand lifetimes and not run out of money.โ
Hearing that, Noraโs eyes lit up and she perked up instantly. โEnna, you make so much sense! If I took all that money and started my own business, I could be the richest woman in the world!โ
Sienna couldnโt help but remember all the companies Nora had tanked before, and that time she got scammed and ended up bawling her eyes out in the doghouse.
Without hesitation, she popped Noraโs bubble. โNo way. If you spend the money and enjoy yourself, youโll never run out, not even in a few lifetimes. But if you go chasing your dreams of being the worldโs richest woman, youโll be out on the street begging in a month.โ
โWhat! Enna, how can you crush my dream like that? Youโve changed! Do you have a new bestie? Tell me! Donโt dodge this!โ
โNope,โ Sienna said.
Nora huffed, but then smirked. โFine. Anyway, Iโm getting a divorce, and thereโs no way Iโm leaving empty-handed. I want half of Ethanโs assets. Iโll be super rich!โ
โGood,โ Sienna replied.
But then Nora remembered her parents and her brother, and her bravado instantly fizzled out. โBut my brother will never agreeโฆโ
โLeave it to me,โ Sienna said.
Noraโs eyes suddenly sparkled. Her brother, that perpetual single, was pretty much head over heels for Enna.
She shot Sienna a sly grin, but Sienna, sensing her thoughts, quickly looked away and checked her phone.
Sheryl Winslowโs name was trending at number one.
