Chapter 108
Sienna glanced down at her phone. โNo need. They canโt cause any trouble. Have all the surveillance cameras in the area where Jocelyn lives been destroyed?โ
โYes, Miss Enna. No one will know where Jocelyn is,โ Lana replied.
She stole a glance at Sienna in the backseat. She still didnโt know why Winifred wanted to kidnap Jocelyn, but with Miss Enna pulling the strings, they could handle anythingโeven if the sky fell.
Halfway down the road, a car suddenly shot out and blocked their path, forcing them to a screeching halt.
Lanaโs hand went straight to her weapon, but Sienna stopped her with a look, her voice cool. โItโs someone we know.โ
With that, Sienna fell silent and waited. The car door opened, and a man stepped outโit was Ethan.
He leaned close to the window. โEnna, can we talk? Iโm begging you, give me a chance.โ
Desperation was etched into his face. Everything that had happened these past few days had him completely on edge. If this kept up, he was going to lose Nora.
Everyone knew Nora never listened to her own parents, but when it came to Sienna, Nora obeyed without question. Ethan had tried to see her, but every attempt ended with him being turned away.
This was his last resortโblocking Siennaโs car.
Siennaโs expression didnโt waver. Her tone was as calm as ever. โEthan, this is between you and your wife. I have no right to interfere.โ
โIf Nora wants a divorce, nothing I say will change her mind.โ
โEnna, I know I screwed up. I was a jerk, but Iโve changed. I want to fix things with Nora. We have a son, Enna. Come on, you wouldnโt want to see our family fall apart, would you?โ Ethan pleaded.
It had only been a few days, but Ethan already looked like a wreck. The once high-and-mighty CEO was now reduced to groveling at the car window, practically begging.
Sienna opened her mouth to replyโbut before she could speak, Ethan was suddenly sent sprawling to the ground by a swift kick.
Nora strode up, clad in a form-fitting purple-black dress, a fan in one hand.
โEnna, are you alright?โ she snapped, her eyes blazing. โYou damn bastard! How dare you mess with Enna? You must have a death wish! Forget the cooling-off period, weโre finalizing this divorce today.โ
She shot Ethan a fierce, murderous glare.
โNora, please,โ Ethan choked, reaching out to her. โLetโs not get divorced. Iโm begging you, donโt leave me or our son. I know I was wrong.โ
His bloodshot eyes brimmed with desperation.
Nora let out a cold, scornful laugh. โLet me make this clearโIโm leaving you. And my son has nothing to do with you. If you want a kid so badly, find someone else to have one with.โ
She ground her heel into his shoe before sliding into the car and grabbing Siennaโs arm. Rolling her eyes, she rolled up the window and snapped, โDrive! Smash right through him!โ
Sienna nodded, and Lana floored the gas pedal, ramming the Rolls-Royce aside and speeding off.
Ethan stood there, defeated, then pulled out his phone. โJason, come out for a drink.โ
โNope. Iโm not your emotional dumpster,โ Jason shot back.
Ethan was at a loss for words.
Sheryl had just finished bragging to her mother about her latest scheme. She sprawled on the sofa, legs crossed, idly scrolling through her phone. Hart Corporation? Theyโre nothing. I could wipe them out without even trying, she thought, full of herself.
Just then, her phone buzzed with a new message: (Cancel your plan within ten minutes. Mess with Hart Corporation and youโre dead.)
Felicia scoffed, rolling her eyes. She quickly typed back: [Scram.]
Winifred read the reply and smirked. Not surprised. She glanced down at Jocelyn, who was lying on the floor, unconscious and soaked in her own urine. Raising an eyebrow, Winifred grabbed her laptop and headed inside.
She pulled out a chair and sat down. A small, jet-black snake slithered out from her sleeve, its round head nuzzling against her fingers.
Winifred gently stroked its head, then gestured for it to go away. The snake obediently slithered off to a corner, coiling itself into a tight spiral and settling down to sleep.
Winifredโs fingers flew across the keyboard. Within minutes, Feliciaโs scandals exploded online, flooding every corner of the web without end.
Back then, Winifred didnโt care if the Hart Corporation lived or died, but now, if anyone was going to bring them down, it would be her. No one else.
Once she was done, Winifred stepped outside and told her guys to wake Jocelyn up. The moment Jocelyn saw Winifred, she started trembling all over, shrinking back in terror, but there was nowhere left for her to run.
โWinifred! YโYou lunatic! Let me go right now, or my mom will make you pay! Do you hear me? Let me go, now!โ Jocelyn screamed, her voice cracking.
Winifred slammed her foot down on Jocelynโs face, pinning her to the floor. โJocelyn, you really are insufferably loud. Didnโt my little โlucky charmโ scare you enough? Donโt worry. Iโve got plenty more treasures to keep you company.โ
With that, one of her men dumped out a huge bucket of tiny snakes, their tongues flicking as they slithered menacingly toward Jocelyn.
โAh! Get them away! Stay away from me!โ
โWinifred, you psycho! You absolute psycho! Ah! Donโt come near me!โ Jocelyn shrieked, her voice raw with terror.
