Chapter 686
At last, Caden received the answer he sought, a satisfied smile spreading across his face. His eyes sparkled with desire and the thrill of victory. "Okay, what?" he urged, yearning for more.
Alicia, now defenseless, pressed her lips together, remaining silent. Caden understood he should ease off, holding back from pressing her further. Alicia, realizing she couldn't retract her words, scolded herself aloud, "I'm not that easy to win over. Later, you need to get on one knee and formally propose."
Above them, a drone buzzed, its camera recording the joyous occasion. Caden ended their kiss, drawing her close, his coat concealing her blushing face. "I'll kneel on the bed later," he replied mischievously. "How would you like me to kneel? Tonight, your wish is my command."
Alicia shot him a playful look; her mild rebuke held no true harshness, yet it only seemed to excite Caden more. The ring was placed, her nod sealing their pact. What more was there to delay? The fireworks burst endlessly; the scrolling ads on the skyscraper screens were merely for online viewers. Caden had other priorities.
The room, prepared beforehand, boasted a 180-degree panoramic view of the glass skyscraper and its billboard. The setting was a vision of romance, luxury, and splendor. Rose petals covered the bed. Alicia found herself gently pushed onto it, yielding to Caden's fervent kisses. It had been a while since their last encounter, and they responded to each other's touch with intense passion.
Caden gazed at Alicia's blissful expression and chuckled lightly. "Are you still feeling any discomfort?" Alicia's eyelids were half-closed, her cheeks flushed. She simply shook her head, her body reacting intensely as she clung to him. Caden adored her responsiveness, playfully nibbling her earlobe. "Should we head to the hospital for another checkup?"
Alicia's throat felt parched as she whispered, "No." What purpose would a checkup serve now? It seemed utterly irrelevant.
