Chapter 629: Caden had already expected this. His strong intuition regarding life and death had been confirmed by Alicia's arrival, dissolving his anxiety. He instructed his team to remain vigilant, arranging for the bodyguards to work continuous shifts for the next few days. The bodyguard acknowledged the order. "Understood, Mr. Ward."

Shortly after, the remaining medication arrived. Gareth was transferred from the emergency room to the ICU for continued monitoring.

Caden released a breath, his eyes finally clear. Alicia, still in his arms, felt his unusually rapid heartbeat. "Do you have any urgent matters?" she asked, noting the sternness in his eyes.

Caden rose, gently setting her down. "I have to see Dorian."

"Do you want me to wait here, or come with you?" Alicia asked, confused. "Is he here? Was he involved?"

"Yes," Caden replied wryly. "There could be some… bloody scenes later."

He observed her for a moment. "Does that scare you?" Ultimately, he decided against taking her. "There's no need. Wait here for me. I'll return shortly."

Understanding the complex conflict between Caden and Dorian, Alicia nodded, choosing to remain behind. In such uncertainty, remaining uninvolved was the best support she could offer.

Dorian, having just requested medication for Yolanda and leaving the doctor's office, was suddenly seized and restrained, his mouth and nose covered. The witnessing doctor, though shocked, did not alert the police, given the prevalent chaos and frequency of kidnappings.

As Dorian struggled, he attempted to signal for help using a device, but his assailant quickly stabbed his arm, causing blood to spurt. He groaned in pain, his eyes flashing with lethal intent as he looked up to identify his attacker. Just as he did, the bloodstained dagger rose again, aimed directly at his heart.

Dorian was petrified, yet realized he hadn't been struck fatally; the assailant had purposely missed. They didn't intend to kill him. A hint of relief washed over him, only to be interrupted by a tall figure stepping into view. Caden smiled casually. "Mr. Moss, seems you do fear death after all."

Dorian narrowed his eyes, meeting the intensity of Caden's gaze.
