Chapter 602
Regina shook her head, a mixture of disappointment and helplessness evident. "You're just like your daughter! Yolanda is solely to blame, yet you drag others into this instead of letting her face the consequences. Do you realize the potential chaos? Do you think you can control everything?"
Dorian took a deep breath. "When all is said and done, Caden is merely a pawn for Yolanda. If I set my mind to it, nothing can stop me."
"What about our years of friendship with the Ward family?" Regina asked, her voice laced with concern. "Does that mean nothing to you?"
Dorian let out a humorless laugh, looking like a man driven to the brink. "I won't do anything extreme... not yet. It all depends on his next move." He reached for his wife's hand. "Regina, Caden and I are rivals now, fighting for the people we care about. There's nothing wrong with that."
Regina gazed into his eyes, her disappointment morphing into pain. "Your daughter isn't worth this anymore."
"Of course, she is," Dorian insisted softly. "I love her almost as much as I love you."
Tears welled in Regina's eyes. Her heart ached at his words. "Why would you do this, Dorian?"
"Caden allowed Alicia to disgrace Yolanda," he replied calmly. "How can I let that insult pass? Do not interfere."
Regina remained silent; controlling him was impossible.
Yolanda recuperated in the hospital for the next few days. Things seemed calm—until Corey's company encountered another setback. The chip Alicia had repaired malfunctioned again, this time automatically playing a vulgar adult film. It went viral instantly, sparking public outrage.
Corey sat in his office, seething. A group of people stood before him, silent. After a long pause, Corey's voice boomed, "Who is behind this?"
His secretary leaned in, whispering, "We investigated. The video's release was scheduled; only Ms. Bennett had access."
Corey's fists clenched. He understood now. Her readily offered help…this was the reason.
