Chapter 595:
Caden turned, a smile playing on his lips. "I brought Mr. Langstaff back."
Blake shuddered at the name. Alicia peered over, concern etched on her face. "Mr. Langstaff, are you alright?" Her eyes fell on the large, wet stain on his trousers. "What happened?"
Caden replied casually, "It's his first kidnapping. He got so scared, he wet his pants."
Blake stared, speechless.
Alicia paused, confusion evident. "So, how do you want me to help?"
Caden's expression deepened. "Well, what kind of help do you think you can offer?"
"Why did you call me here, then?" Alicia asked impatiently.
Caden's face remained stoic. "I called you to check on Mr. Langstaff, who had an unfortunate accident due to fear."
Alicia raised an eyebrow skeptically. Was that truly the case? It seemed improbable, almost unbelievable. Yet, prioritizing Blake's dignity, she stepped outside.
Blake's face flushed with embarrassment before paling in shock. "Alicia, it's not what you think. It was Caden's doing; my pants are soaked because of the water he spilled earlier."
He moved too quickly, lacking the strength to steady himself. His legs gave way, and he knelt before Alicia and Caden.
Alicia instinctively reached to help, but Caden was faster, seizing his arm. Feigning sincerity, he said, "That's a handy excuse. Next time I'm terrified and lose control, I'll be sure to say the same."
Blake could not respond. Alicia glared at Caden before turning back to Blake. "Did you get hurt?"
Blake struggled to stand, shaking his head. "No."
