Chapter 577

“I can’t help but think of that night at the cinema,” Alicia murmured, a rush of memories flooding back.

“Why are you thinking about that night now?” Caden asked.

“Because that night, you were overwhelmed, a little out of your depth. Before I was quite ready, you rather impulsively climbed on top of me,” Caden said slowly, each word deliberate and vivid. “You were eager, but your inexperience led to some… discomfort. I found your attempt at seasoned professionalism both amusing and endearing. The more I reflect on it, the more I cherish the memory.”

Alicia’s cheeks flushed crimson. “You’re making things up! I wasn’t in a hurry at all!”

Caden chuckled, his breath warm against her ear, making Alicia squirm. “Oh, really? I happened to have recorded it. Want to watch it?”

Alicia blinked in surprise. “Seriously?”

Caden’s lips curled into a playful smirk. “Nah, just teasing. You fall for it every time.”

Alicia playfully twisted his arm. Caden continued his teasing, a sly smile playing on his lips. “I used to wonder why only you stirred such feelings in me. You’re so delicate, and if I pushed too hard, you’d resist, forcing me to slow down and earn every inch. It was exhausting at times. But as we spent more time together, I understood our perfect fit. Alicia, we’ve grown together, bit by bit. Your heart and body belong only to me. The sense of accomplishment… it’s something I could never get from anyone else.”

Embarrassed and annoyed, Alicia snapped, “Caden, you are so shameless!”

A brisk knock came at the door. “Mr. Ward.”

The voice was unfamiliar, and Alicia glanced at Caden, curiosity flickering in her eyes. “Who’s that?”

Caden patted her lightly on the bottom, signaling her to get up. “You better go. Otherwise, Corey might actually kill Blake.”

Alicia blinked, suddenly remembering the more pressing matter. She quickly composed herself. Caden couldn’t resist one last tease. “You were so worried about Mr. Langstaff earlier. And now, with his life at stake, you still find time for a little romance.”

Alicia’s face flamed, but she couldn’t retort. She ducked her head and hurried out the door. A tall man with a firm, resolute posture waited outside.
