Chapter 525

Just then, the chief intercepted Dorian, blocking his path. Caden knew Yolanda was feigning illness, a trick the police readily recognized. They promptly summoned a female doctor to examine her. For once, Yolanda remained calm and cooperated with the examination, until the doctor declared, “Miss Moss is fine. There is nothing wrong with her.”

“But I can hardly breathe!” Yolanda cried. “Are you just going to let me die here?”

Exasperated, the chief gestured to his officers, sending Yolanda to a detention cell. As the cell doors opened, Dorian glimpsed several large inmates inside, leering at Yolanda as she was brought in.

Dorian turned to Caden, demanding, “You’re putting Yolanda in there with those thugs?”

Caden’s expression remained impassive. “Everyone is treated equally here. Criminals are detained regardless of status. If you have a problem with that, report it to the government.”

Without warning, Dorian lunged, grabbing Caden by the collar. “Don’t push your luck, Caden Ward!”

Caden remained unmoved. “Have you seen the video your daughter sent to my grandmother, Mr. Moss?”

Dorian scoffed. “She was just being immature.”

Caden narrowed his eyes, sneering. “If my reaction had been half as immature as her behavior, she wouldn’t be at the police station tonight. Instead, she’d be starring in a compromising video with multiple men.” He shoved Dorian away, straightening his clothes. “And I assure you, Mr. Moss, you’ll have the honor of seeing the very first copy.”

Dorian’s nostrils flared, his eyes bloodshot with anger. For the first time, he felt an overwhelming urge to strike Caden. A long silence followed. The two men stood facing each other, the façade of their long-standing friendship shattered beyond repair.

Caden broke the silence. “I don’t have much else to say, Mr. Moss. You’ve inspired me and helped pave my path to success. In return for your guidance, consider this matter settled.”

“Why such blatant hypocrisy?” Dorian spat.

Caden shrugged dismissively. “Take care of yourself. Even with all your connections, you won’t be able to save Yolanda.”

As soon as Caden left, Dorian rushed to the cell. Guards were present, preventing the inmates from physically harming Yolanda, but their leering and gestures pushed her to the brink of a breakdown. Dorian’s heart ached. He left immediately and contacted his associates for help.

It was late when Caden returned to Joy Mansion. He collapsed onto the sofa, exhausted.
