Chapter 476
A short time later, Caden strolled from the conference room. The red mark on his face was gone, though his lips were pressed into a thin line. He appeared as composed as ever. He shot a sharp glance at the curious employees, who immediately straightened and returned to their work. Caden strode to the CEO's exclusive elevator. The moment the doors opened, Alicia stepped forward and rushed inside. Caden leisurely followed.
As soon as the doors closed, Alicia glared at him, though traces of lust lingered on her face. Her attempts to appear cold only made her more alluring. Her legs buckled, and she leaned against the handrails for support. Caden leaned against the far wall and grinned.
“Why are you so upset? I didn't do anything to you back there. Or are you disappointed?”
Alicia’s eyes widened slightly. “One more word,” she bit out, “and I’ll tear your mouth apart.”
“So, you’ll rip it apart after you’ve had your fun? You really know how to burn bridges, Ms. Bennett?” Caden closed the distance in a few steps, pulling her into his arms. He whispered, “Have my oral skills improved?”
Alicia’s face flushed, the heat spreading down her neck and chest. “You pervert!” She shoved him away, her heart racing.
Caden shrugged. “Don’t you like me like this? If you didn’t, you would have pushed me away instead of grabbing my hair.”
Alicia was silent, too ashamed to speak. Earlier, in the conference room, just as Caden was about to pounce, he'd had a moment of clarity. Making noise in the office would alert busybodies, and he didn't want his employees judging Alicia. Alicia was overwhelmed with gratitude, but the next moment, he'd turned her onto her back. Thinking about it now, she hated her weakness; she'd succumbed in minutes.
“At least no one would suspect us,” Caden teased.
Alicia huffed and glared. “I thought you'd gone crazy after hitting your head in the hot springs. Turns out, you just like to do that sort of thing.”
“Yep,” Caden said, nodding. “And there will be no reprieve for you tonight.”
Alicia’s jaw dropped. They emerged into the underground garage, and Caden escorted her to her car.
“Were you afraid I was actually going to turn you over to Corey?” he joked, opening her car door.
Alicia had feared the worst; that fear hadn't entirely vanished. “Even if you wanted to, I would never let you,” she retorted. “I’m not a commodity you can trade.” Caden knew she was worried but said nothing, only smiled. He remembered her pale face and innocent voice asking, “Did you agree to the deal?” She was just too adorable.
