Chapter 465: Terriland

Terriland, a small country with an alarmingly high rate of human trafficking, was the subject of Caden's thoughts.

“What did he do?”

“I don’t know. He probably worked as a lackey for one of the criminals. He only served five months, so it shouldn’t have been anything major.”

Caden recalled the information his team had uncovered on Corey. His arrest was never publicly mentioned. However, hearing it from Regina made it seem credible. This only highlighted Corey's ability to meticulously conceal his past indiscretions. The fact that Corey had worked so hard to hide this suggested that exposing it would be highly impactful. Caden felt he had discovered a potential weakness that could ultimately lead to Corey's downfall.

“Is he married?” Caden asked Regina.

“No.”

“What about his family?”

Regina's brows furrowed. “Corey is an orphan, raised in an orphanage. Over the years, I’ve never seen him with anyone who might be related to him.”

Caden was perplexed. Did this mean he had a girlfriend? Why would a successful entrepreneur like Corey be so secretive about a romantic partner? It wasn’t as if he were involved in illicit activities.

Seeing Caden's serious expression, Regina added, “I am to blame for Yolanda’s immaturity. Rest assured, if you ever need help from the Moss family, just ask. Reach out to me, and I’ll make sure Dorian sees reason.”

Caden chuckled. “What does this have to do with Dorian?”

“He is the one who spoiled Yolanda, so it’s only right that he answers for the consequences!”

“It’s not that serious, Regina,” Caden said, dismissing her concerns.

They parted ways, and Caden observed Corey, surrounded by fawning guests eager to network. Yet, beneath the veneer of success, Caden saw the monster within Corey: an insatiable ambition, a bottomless pit that no amount of wealth could fill.

Caden was unfazed by his enemies' attacks, but Corey's interest in Alicia was unacceptable.

Much later, as Caden exited the restroom, Yolanda intercepted him. She had been waiting for this opportunity, her patience exhausted. She impulsively attempted to hug him, even standing on tiptoe for a kiss. Caden reacted swiftly, pushing her away.

Yolanda rubbed her arm, her eyes welling up. “You can’t treat me like this, Caden!”

His response was chilling. “You still haven’t given up? It seems I wasn’t harsh enough when I handed over the chip.”
