Chapter 462

Caden calmly flipped through documents detailing the results of a recent investigation into Corey. He meticulously reviewed the contents, anxious to miss no vital detail. Noticing Caden's silence, Gerry paced, frustration etched on his face.

"Even if you don't care about the money, how can you endure this humiliation? Is this really the Caden I know?" He moved closer, cupping Caden's face in his hands. "Are you really thinking about being a gigolo?"

Caden was dumbfounded. His expression turned cold and forbidding. Gerry quickly withdrew his trembling hand.

"Is there something you can stuff your mouth with?" Caden sneered, wiping the spot where Gerry had touched him with a tissue. "You're so noisy."

His disdain further enraged Gerry. "What, do you think I'm dirty? My hands aren't filthy, you know! Years of friendship mean nothing compared to a woman, huh? I bet you don't mind Alicia's saliva as much."

Caden, suffering a headache from Gerry's tirade, closed the file and put it away. Just then, Hank knocked and entered, his face impassive. He approached Caden's desk and presented a black card with gold embossing.

"Mr. Ward, this is an invitation to Corey's new product launch. Are you attending?"

"He still has the nerve to invite us?" Gerry exclaimed. "Damn him! I'll tell my brother to bring a machine gun, so we can take that bastard down once and for all!"

"Please calm down, Mr. Hopkins," Hank said calmly. "The invitation is not for you."

Gerry sputtered, then collected himself. "Why the hell didn't he invite me? Does he look down on me? Ha! Forget the machine gun, I might as well bring explosives and level his company to the ground!"

Hank remained silent. Caden picked up the invitation, glanced at it, and spoke calmly. "Hank, call security. Have them remove this noisy fool from the building."

Moments later, Gerry's enraged shouts echoed as he was dragged away. "I sorely misjudged you, Caden! I came to offer my sympathies, and this is how you treat me? Just wait! I'll tell the media all about your dirty little secret!"

The door slammed shut. Peace returned. Caden immediately called Cliff. "Keep an eye on your brother. Don't let him provoke Corey."

Cliff replied simply, "I understand."

Caden added, "And don't believe anything he says."

"You mean about your attempt to be a gigolo?" Cliff asked immediately.

Caden was speechless. Damn that big-mouthed idiot!

"Don't worry, Mr. Ward," Cliff reassured him. "I didn't believe a word of it."

Caden planned to meet Corey, and the product launch provided the perfect opportunity.
