Chapter 372:

He was handsome and youthful. Alicia felt pleasantly flattered conversing with him. Caden returned, witnessing this striking scene, his expression instantly darkening. The two were conversing amiably, maintaining a respectful distance, apparently discussing business.

Gerry approached with a drink. "Another one?" he asked. Caden remained stoic. "Does that man look familiar to you?"

Gerry scrutinized Blake. "He doesn't ring a bell. I'd definitely remember someone that striking. Why? Is he a friend of yours?"

Caden had indeed seen Blake before, but it was some time ago, and he struggled to place him. Gerry noticed Caden's sour expression. "You're jealous, aren't you? Want me to split them up?"

A surge of bitterness washed over Caden. "They're discussing business. What is there to be jealous about? I'm not that petty." He glanced at Blake. "He doesn't even come close to looking as good as me. Alicia wouldn't be interested in him."

Gerry looked again at Blake. It was clear the man's interest in Alicia was purely appreciative, not romantic. This likely explained Alicia's ease in conversing with him, ranging from trivialities to more substantial topics. Yet, despite his words, Caden remained fixated on them.

Alicia sensed his gaze and turned to him. Their eyes met briefly. Simultaneously, Blake noticed Caden, his recognition sparking an immediate reaction. "Mr. Ward," Blake greeted, smiling.

Alicia pressed her lips together, intrigued. "You know him?"

"More than an acquaintance," Blake replied, sipping his champagne with reserve. "Though he may not recall me. I'll make a point of saying hello next time."

As he set down his glass, his gaze met Caden's, and an unspoken tension filled the air. Alicia averted her eyes, feeling the weight of the moment. "Let's find a different spot to sit and talk," she suggested.

Blake, sensing the tension, chose not to address it. "Alright," he agreed. They moved away.

Caden was left with a deepening frown, his fingers tightening around his wine glass. Gerry rolled up his sleeves, a knowing look in his eyes. "That doesn't sit well with you, does it? Relax, I've got this."

Caden remained silent, his lips pressed together in tight agreement. Earlier, Blake's gaze had been undeniably unsettling. The exchange between Alicia and Blake, confined to work matters, ended quickly.
