Chapter 325

They had parted ways with a mutual promise: all debts settled, nothing left outstanding. This was the only way Caden could steal a kiss. Alicia knew she couldn't avoid it. Instead of pretense, she met it head-on. Inhaling deeply, she rose onto her toes and lightly kissed him.

"There. It's done."

That wasn't enough for Caden. He pulled her into the car, pinned her against the seat, and kissed her with an intensity she couldn't match. Alicia had always been vulnerable to his kisses. Caden's desire was relentless, but what of her own feelings? Was she as entangled as he was? Her weak attempts to push him away only fueled her self-frustration. Even though Caden called it just a kiss, his racing heart and fiery breath betrayed him. He wanted her; he liked her far more than he'd ever admit.

He pulled back, pressing his lips gently to her earlobe. Alicia squeezed her eyes shut, trying to pull away.

"Are you finished?"

Caden slipped a photograph back into her hand, their fingers interlacing. Their skin was damp with sweat, the tension between them thick with unspoken words. Caden's body reacted strongly, but he didn't push further.

Alicia shoved him back, saying coldly, "Why keep torturing yourself? Just move on."

Caden refused to release her hand, their faces inches apart, his eyes locked on hers.

"You want this too. I can feel it," he murmured, his voice raspy. "But I'm not in a hurry. If you ever want it, just come find me."

Alicia let out a bitter laugh. "Do you think you're some kind of gigolo?"

Caden didn't flinch. "Didn't you treat me like one the first time?"

He pressed his face against the curve of her neck, inhaling deeply. When he lifted his head, his eyes held such intensity that Alicia trembled. The power of his gaze sent a shiver down her spine. She'd never seen this side of Caden before. His chin brushed lightly against hers as he whispered, "Alicia, can't you tell how much I feel for you?"

Alicia's breathing steadied. "You're sexually attracted to me," she stated.

Caden's expression darkened. "Is that all you think this is? Do you really believe I only care about you in bed?"
