Chapter 263

With only two hours to enjoy the outdoors, she wanted to make the most of it. She tugged on Caden's arm, pulling him toward the river. "Caden, please stay with me a little longer. I'll be back in half an hour."

Caden replied, "It's pretty windy outside. Considering your condition, I don't think that's a good idea." Yolanda's expression fell. "I understand your concern, Caden. I feel fine. I won't make it difficult for you," she said with a smile, though her eyes were red. "You can go back first. I'll take a little walk." Caden frowned. Given the weather, he couldn't leave her alone unsupervised.

In the quaint fourth-floor room, Alicia fell into a light sleep before waking. She stretched languidly and glanced at her phone, discovering a message from Caden with a photo: a stunning necklace adorned with a pink gemstone. The opulent design was eye-catching, though seemingly more suited to extravagant events. Alicia chuckled softly, quickly texting back: "Sounds perfect for someone who enjoys showing off their wealth." Caden didn't reply. Alicia continued to admire the necklace, admitting it was beautiful.

Lost in thought, she leaned against the steamed-up window, gazing out. The view was unclear, so she began scribbling on the glass. In a moment of boredom, she wrote Caden's name, the neon streetlights illuminating her face. She blushed, shyly erasing it.

Feeling emboldened, she headed downstairs. The open-air restaurant attracted many diners, enjoying the post-snow river view. Realizing it was early, Alice decided to reserve a table. Just as she was about to sit, a familiar figure caught her eye. She narrowed her eyes and froze. A tall man, wrapped in a black coat, stood beside a woman. If her clothes, hairstyle, behavior, and body shape could be coincidence, what about the scarf? The same scarf Alice had worn all winter.

The woman turned slightly, meeting Alice's gaze. Alicia's eyelashes fluttered; her heart skipped a beat. It was Yolanda. So it was Yolanda. Caden's "personal matters" involved a date with Yolanda in Averibon.

Judging by Yolanda's surprised reaction, she hadn't expected to meet Alicia. Fate took a stranger turn. Just as Yolanda, claiming to be cold, approached Caden, Alicia saw them. Yolanda smirked at Alicia, a sharp, unspoken challenge in her eyes. Alicia clenched her fists, unable to move. She felt she had no right to question Caden's time with Yolanda.
