Chapter 477

Trevor was completely dumbfounded, watching the formidable Abigail. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead as he stared at her, dumbstruck. He wanted to refuse, but the words caught in his throat.

Abigail chuckled, seeing his terrified expression. โ€œYou dork, youโ€™re such a simpleton.โ€

She grabbed Trevor and forcefully pulled him forward. โ€œNow, youโ€™re coming with me to ask my father for my hand in marriage.โ€

โ€œIโ€ฆ Iโ€ฆโ€ Trevorโ€™s face paled, and his body stiffened. He had lived for over thirty years and had never met a woman like this before.

โ€œMiss Abigailโ€ฆโ€ said Trevor.

โ€œShut up.โ€ Abigail turned and smiled gently at him. โ€œCall me Abigail.โ€

Trevor opened his mouth, but couldnโ€™t call out. Abigail dragged him all the way by his collar to the outside of the tribal chiefโ€™s camp. Countless eyes fell on Trevor on their way, as if watching a monkey. At that moment, he wished the ground would just swallow him whole. After entering the tent, Abigail pressed Trevor to his knees on the ground. Then, she knelt down beside him as well.

Facing Russell Pelosi, the tribal chief who was holding a bowl of medicine, she kowtowed respectfully, โ€œDad, I am going to marry.โ€

Russell looked at Abigail, then at Trevor. His brows furrowed. โ€˜What is going on here?โ€™ thought Russell.

Abigail nudged Trevor, who was not moving, with her elbow. โ€œSpeak.โ€

โ€œI.โ€ Trevor looked embarrassed and said to Russell, โ€œChief Pelosi, please forgive me. I am not talented enough for Abigailโ€ฆ umโ€ฆโ€

Before he could finish his words, Abigail covered his mouth. Abigail smiled at Russell and said, โ€œDad, I must marry him. Before returning to the tribe, I was already his woman. We lived in the bamboo forest for more than ten days, just him and me, so I had to take responsibility for him.โ€

Upon hearing that, Trevor stared in surprise. He shook his head at Abigail, but Abigail acted as if she hadnโ€™t heard him. She tapped his dumb acupoint with her finger, and Trevor immediately lost his voice. Russell closed his eyes gently, feeling he couldnโ€™t bear to watch.

โ€œNonsense,โ€ Russell rebuked Abigail. โ€œAs a young lady, arenโ€™t you ashamed?โ€ He could see that all that was Abigailโ€™s wishful thinking. Trevor never intended to marry her at all.

Abigail didnโ€™t care and said, โ€œI donโ€™t care, I will marry Trevor. When he leaves, I will follow him to the Grand Luminary Empire.โ€ Then, she ignored Russellโ€™s expression and dragged Trevor out of the tent.

Once outside the tent, Abigail released the mute acupoint on him. Trevor coughed a couple of times and said to Abigail in a fluster, โ€œMiss Abigail, I wonโ€™t marry you. Just think of me as someone who doesnโ€™t appreciate kindness.โ€

Then, he left without looking back.

โ€œTrevor Perkins, stop! Stop!โ€ Abigail chased after him, but Trevor walked even faster. Just then, Athena heard the noise and came out. Looking at Trevor and Abigail in front of her, she was a little confused.

Abigail ran to her with red eyes and complained, โ€œPrincess Consort, why is Trevor like this? I asked him to marry me, but he looked at me as if I were a dread monster.โ€

So that was what happened. Athena understood. โ€˜Others donโ€™t quite understand Trevor. However, donโ€™t I know him?โ€™ thought Athena.

Athena advised, โ€œAbigail, he is just like that. He has never talked to a girl. He is a straight man. But he has you in his heart. Otherwise, he would not have risked his life to protect you.โ€

In a word, Abigail burst into laughter. โ€œI knew it. He has me in his heart.โ€

All day long, Trevor either pretended not to see Abigail or detoured away. He was forced to run to Xanderโ€™s camp and refused to leave.

Xander couldnโ€™t be intimate with Athena because he was there, and Xander was also full of resentment. It wasnโ€™t until the evening that Trevor saw Abigail was no longer blocking him outside, so he took the opportunity to come out. He hadnโ€™t gone far when Abigail appeared before him.

Upon seeing her, Trevor turned to leave.

โ€œTry to leave?โ€ Abigailโ€™s sassy voice came from behind.

Trevorโ€™s legs stopped where he was against his will. He reluctantly turned back to look at Abigail, only to see she had shed her grassland womanโ€™s outfit. She was actually wearing a womanโ€™s dress from the Grand Luminary Empire. A moon-white dress paired with a plain-colored hairband created an indescribably elegant and moving look. It would be even better if the murderous intent in her eyes were a little less intense.

โ€œMiss Pelosi, why must youโ€ฆโ€ said Trevor.

Abigail stepped forward with a cold face and shoved a jar of wine into his arms. Then, realizing something, she immediately put on a gentle face.

โ€œCall me Abigail.โ€

Abigail tilted her head back and took a swig of wine, gesturing to him with her eyes: โ€œSit down.โ€

The two found a deserted place and sat on the grass. Trevor was stiff and afraid to move. Abigail sighed. โ€œI know you donโ€™t like me. Feelings canโ€™t be forced. Youโ€™ll be leaving in a few days, so have a drink with me today. Consider it a farewell for our acquaintance.โ€

Her voice was filled with indescribable sorrow, and Trevor could no longer bring himself to refuse her. He hummed in acknowledgement, then lifted the wine jar and began to gulp down the contents. As the wine went down his throat, he felt it was burning hot. Moreover, it had a strange, indescribable taste.

Before Trevor could think further, he felt Abigailโ€™s hand brush against his Adamโ€™s apple.

โ€œTrevor, donโ€™t take what happened during the day to heart.โ€

Trevorโ€™s Adamโ€™s apple bobbed, and he took the wine jar and took two large gulps to calm his nerves. His ears turned red. โ€œI didnโ€™tโ€ฆ didnโ€™t take it to heart.โ€

He stole a glance at her bright eyes, remembering Athena saying he was a straight man. His Adamโ€™s apple bobbed as he wanted to say something tender, but all he managed to blurt out was, โ€œDonโ€™tโ€ฆ Donโ€™t drink too fast.โ€

Abigail chuckled and clinked the wine jar against his. โ€œHave another bowl with me asโ€ฆ as an apology.โ€

Trevor didnโ€™t suspect anything and tilted his head back for a big gulp. In less than half the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee, sweat appeared on his forehead. His whole body was as hot as if it were being scorched by a raging fire, and his eyes gradually became heavy. He grabbed Abigailโ€™s wrist, trying to push her away, but his voice was terribly hoarse as he said, โ€œAbigail, Iโ€ฆ I feel so hot.โ€

Trevor tore at his collar, revealing his muscular chest. His head was spinning in waves. He felt like he was in a furnace. Suddenly, a soft, boneless body pressed against his chest. The fragrance of the girl stimulated Trevorโ€™s eyes until they were bloodshot. Trevor stared at Abigail, his mouth dry and tongue parched. He felt like he was about to be burned.

โ€œTrevor, are you hot?โ€ asked Abigail.

Abigail leaned into his arms, her soft skirt pressed against his scalding arm. She could feel the sudden stiffness in his body.

Trevor was sweating profusely and nodded honestly, โ€œHot.โ€

โ€œThen, Iโ€™ll take your clothes off for you.โ€ Abigail reached out to undo his belt.

Trevor had a moment of clarity and quickly stopped her. โ€œNo. Noโ€ฆโ€

Trevor wanted to say no, but the heat in his body was like a wild horse, making it difficult for him to even stand. Abigail half-supported and half-dragged him into her tent.

The guard outside the tent saw the scene and widened his eyes in surprise. โ€œMiss Pelosi.โ€

Abigailโ€™s expression turned cold as she said, โ€œGet lost. Go away.โ€
