Chapter 373

Sadieโ€™s pupils dilated, filled with terror. Her voice trembled as she tried to speak, and it was clear this nightmare was no ordinary one. "All of you," she cried, her voice rising. "All of you were awful to Skye! All you see is Maisy, completely ignoring Skye! Do you even know what youโ€™ve done?"

Sadie was practically screaming. Her voice was urgent, and the frantic look in her eyes made her seem like a figure from a horror movie. Her sons were terrified.

"Mom, you already said it was a nightmare," Samuel said. "Nightmares aren't real! You just miss Skye too much. That's why you had that dream. You know dreams aren't real," Jenny hastily added.

It was just a dream. Why was Sadie behaving like this? What did she mean by Skylar getting into a car accident? Sadie was the one who had been in the accident. Frankly, he'd rather Skylar had been the one injured; then they wouldn't be suffering this torment.

"Mom, stop fussing," Samuel said impatiently. "It's just a dream. There's no need to shout."

Sadie swept her gaze across her sons' impatient faces. She had seen that same expression on her own face in the nightmareโ€”the way she had treated Skylar. In fact, she had treated Skylar worse. Skylar never dared express her wants or needs, because Sadie would erupt in anger at the slightest frown, convinced Skylar was deliberately disobedient. The thought drenched Sadie in cold sweat. Even as a dream, it felt terrifyingly real.

"It doesn't feel like a dream," she sobbed. "It feels like something that has happened before. I want to see her! I have to see her!"

Sadie desperately wanted to see Skylar. She couldn't explain why she felt this way. Sheโ€™d obviously never liked Skylar, always believing Maisy, with her superior education, was far more outstanding than the "country bumpkin" Skylar. Sadie had never treated Skylar kindly after she rejoined the Williams family.

However, after her own car accident, she saw Maisy's true feelings. Her children claimed to be caring for her, but they were only impatient. Maisy, especially, showed no genuine concern for her well-being. Sadie could tell the difference between sincerity and false kindness. Maisy probably prayed she'd died in the crash instead of surviving to burden them.

"That's enough," Peter said harshly. "You'll get your wish. You'll see Skylar soon enough."

Samuel inhaled sharply, suppressing his anger. "Mom, don't tell us about your dreams anymore," he barked. "It's so annoying! You've always said dreams are fake, so why are you being so unreasonable now? If your dream is true, then I genuinely hope the person who got into the car accident and lost her legs was Skylar!"
