Chapter 262
โSkylar, do you know Annie?โ Natalie asked curiously.
Skylar turned to look in Annieโs direction. She was surprised to see Joe and Annie had already parted ways; they hadnโt seemed to say much to each other. Even from a distance, Skylar could tell Annie was looking at her.
โWeโve met a couple of times,โ Skylar replied.
Natalie nodded. โNo wonder sheโs staring at you.โ However, she felt Annie viewed Skylar as a love rival, which seemed impossible. Skylar barely knew Joe; she only had a fake marriage certificate.
โYou must be mistaken,โ Skylar said, unwilling to elaborate. Annie was cunning, and Skylar wanted no involvement with her.
โWhat are you two talking about?โ Charles asked, walking up and seeing them chatting and looking back.
Natalie pointed toward Annie. โDo you see that beautiful woman?โ
Charles glanced over and was impressed. โI know her! Thatโs Annie Silver, right? Her show is very popular, and sheโs really pretty.โ He found her attractive.
โNo matter how pretty she is, sheโs not as beautiful as Skye,โ Natalie said firmly. No celebrity, not even Annie, could compare.
Suddenly, Jeremyโs secretary popped into her mindโa woman with a great figure, who worked hard to maintain it. She was the kind of woman men couldnโt resist. Natalie frowned. Why was she thinking of her?
Chapter 27
Annabelle was just Jeremyโs secretary; she wasnโt even his type. But now that Natalie was reminded of her, Annabelleโs gaze seemed unusual, almost competitive.
โIf I ever get to be on her show, it means Iโve made it big,โ Charles said, full of dreams and expectations. Once he achieved his career goals, he would find a girlfriend he truly loved.
Natalie pushed aside her chaotic thoughts and smiled. โCharles, I have a feeling youโll be famous soon,โ she said.
โThank you! When I make it big, Iโll take you two to Nordland, and youโll have the time of your lives,โ Charles promised generously.
Skylar smiled. โI believe you can do it! Visiting Nordland is my dream. Iโll be waiting for you to make it come true.โ
โJust wait! I wonโt let you down!โ
The three continued chatting and laughing. Meanwhile, Joe was approaching. Suddenly, several middle-aged men blocked his path, seemingly delighted to see him.
โWhat a coincidence, Mr. Martin! We didnโt expect to run into you here!โ one exclaimed. โSince weโve met, why not join us for some tea?โ another suggested. โYouโre becoming more and more composed these days,โ a third commented.
Joe looked at the men and discreetly glanced at Skylar ahead.
โMr. Morris, Mr. Perez, Mr. Evans, itโs good to see you here,โ Joe replied.
Paul, who had caught up, saw the men surrounding Joe and immediately greeted them.
