Chapter 1183

A small crowd quickly gathered around two individuals entering the cafรฉ. The commotion could only mean one thingโ€”celebrities.

Natalie, noticing the crew's cautious behavior, grew curious. Upon seeing the newcomers, her expression shifted dramatically; shock was etched on her face. It was Austin. She could hardly believe her eyes. Beside him was a recently award-winning actress. They made a striking pair, handsome and beautiful.

For a moment, Natalie's mind blanked, focusing entirely on Austin. He nodded a brief acknowledgment, treating her like an ordinary acquaintance. The look in his eyes lacked the confusion and passion of their unforgettable night three years prior. Reality snapped her back. Even fleeting flirtations fade; after three years, passionate feelings could easily turn to indifference. Perhaps he had forgotten her entirely.

Composing herself, she smiled brightly and called out, "Mr. Powell, it's been a while."

A flicker of something dark crossed his eyes, but it was subtle, obscured by the cafรฉ's warm lighting, unnoticed by those around them. Internally, he thought, "What a heartless woman."

Outside, Skylar waited by her car, observing the bustling cafรฉ, realizing they were filming. It wasn't the right time to enter. Leaning against her car, she waited quietly, lost in thought.

Natalie's words struck Skylar like thunder, confirming her suspicion about the man in the MPV. But if it was Joe, why was he in Jipsburg, and why hadn't he contacted her in years? The stillness of the night amplified her questions, yet concrete answers eluded her. She took a deep breath, attempting to calm her racing thoughts, a light laugh escaping her lips.

Lost in thought, she wondered that if it truly was Joe, she would certainly ask why he had vanished without a word, and what his past promises meant.

After a while, Natalie left the cafรฉ and approached Skylar. Seeing Skylar standing in only a coat, exposed to the evening chill, Natalie felt concern. "Why are you dressed so lightly?" she asked.

"I'm not cold," Skylar replied.

Natalie raised an eyebrow. It was hard to believe; the temperature had dropped significantly, and she herself wore a cashmere coat. But Skylar's troubled expression tugged at her heart, bringing a sense of calm. She regretted her impulsive revelation but knew there was no undoing it.

She produced her phone. "This is video from the surveillance footage. He appeared with a woman for only three or four minutes. He looks just like Joe, but he didn't recognize me."
