Richest Mogul 1093
Jenny was trying to cause a scene by threatening to jump off a building for no reason at all.
Minerva felt that Jenny and Rowan were really having a tumultuous and stormy relationship. But no matter how intense or dramatic it is, why would they drag others into their relationship? Did they think everyone else had to serve their love story? It was ridiculous!
Seeing the impatience on Minervaโs face, Rowan asked anxiously with reddened eyes, โAre you pregnant with our baby?โ
Minervaโs expression changed drastically upon hearing this. She stared at Rowan in shock. โHow did you find out?โ
โWhy didnโt you tell me you were pregnant?โ Rowan asked, his voice filled with urgency.
Minerva raised an eyebrow and replied sarcastically, โRowan, is your memory failing you? We broke up. It has nothing to do with you whether Iโm pregnant or not.โ
โOf course it matters! Iโm the father! If you had told me, I wouldโve taken responsibility!โ Rowan hurriedly expressed his intentions.
Minerva scoffed, โYou want to take responsibility while youโre still with Jenny? Rowan, youโre really something.โ
โNo, I didnโt mean it that wayโฆโ Rowan quickly tried to explain.
โDidnโt mean it that way? Rowan, no oneโs going to believe that. Donโt bother with pointless explanations. The babyโs gone, and we have nothing to do with each other anymore,โ Minerva said coldly, finding Rowanโs belated affection utterly baffling.
Some mistakes could only be made once. No one would give them another chance to make the same mistake.
Rowan, feeling desperate, stepped forward and grabbed Minervaโs hand. โWhy didnโt you discuss it with me?โ
His heart ached terribly seeing her treat him like a stranger. He felt dizzy, as if the world was spinning around him.
โThere was no need to.โ Minervaโs tone was cold as she tried to yank her hand free. But Rowanโs grip was too tight, and she couldnโt shake him off.
Minerva frowned and added, โLet go! Donโt let Jenny see this and make a scene.โ
โIโve broken up with Jenny. You donโt need to worry about her. Minerva, thereโs so much left unsaid between us. You shouldnโt have hidden the pregnancy from me,โ Rowan said, his voice steady as he looked at her.
Minerva just let out a cold laugh and rolled her eyes. โRowan, youโre the one who broke up with me. After we ended things, my life had nothing to do with you. Even if I had kept the baby, I wouldnโt have told you. It has nothing to do with you.โ
She tried to free herself from his grasp again.
Minerva had fallen into this trap once and refused to let herself fall in again. To her, Rowanโs late apology was utterly meaningless.
Rowanโs entire body stiffened. Seeing Minerva struggling to pull away only made him grip her hand tighter.
He didnโt know why, but he was terrified. He feared that if he let her go this time, he would never see her again.
โMinerva, letโs go somewhere and calmly talk this through, okay?โ For the first time, Rowan lowered his tone in front of Minerva.
She found this strange, and after pausing for a moment, she flatly refused. โThereโs no need for that. We have said everything that needed to be said when we broke up.โ
Rowanโs face tensed as he took a deep breath and said, โIโve really broken up with Jenny. Tomorrow, Iโll go home. Jenny and I can never get back together. Minerva, we can start over.โ
Minervaโs expression darkened at his words. So, she raised her free hand and slapped Rowan across the face.
โRowan, what do you take me for? Do you think I canโt have any other man but you? You broke up with me and then came back expecting to reconcile! Am I just some cheap fallback to you? Do you think Iโm that dumb?โ
Rowanโs head snapped to the side from the slap, his face pale. But he didnโt get angry. He knew he deserved it. He had wronged Minerva.
Looking around the empty street, illuminated only by streetlights, Minerva looked stunning, making it impossible for Rowan to look away.
But he also clearly saw that she now loathed him.
