Chapter 391: I Will Make You All Pay
Jared's suspicions were confirmed by the earring in his hand. Phoenix and the others struggled to keep pace with him.
"Mr. Chance, could this be?" Phoenix asked, her suspicion evident from the disturbed earth.
"I want this place dug up," Jared commanded, ignoring her question.
Phoenix's men unearthed the bodies of several young girls, their wounds a horrifying sight. Josephine vomited at the gruesome scene. The others burned with anger.
Lizbeth, clenching her teeth, hissed, "Damn We should have done more than just kill Zachariah!"
Even Tommy, the notorious underground king, was disgusted and enraged. Jared remained silent, his eyes icy.
"While Zachariah is cruel and vicious, I've never heard of him doing this," Phoenix whispered. "This might be someone else, Mr. Chance."
She wasn't condoning Zachariah's abduction of the girls, but doubted his involvement in their murder. Jared immediately thought of Venicus, the sage-like old man.
"Give these girls proper burials," Jared said, raising a finger. A golden light shot from his finger, dissipating the dark, hateful energy surrounding the bodies. Though he could have used this energy for cultivation, he chose to dispel it, hoping to grant the girls peace.
Back at the mansion, Jared remained gloomy. Josephine continued to vomit, comforted by Lizbeth. Hours later, Jared found contracts and bags of herbs in the Jantz family residence.
"Mr. Chance, we found these in one room," Phoenix reported, entering with lingerie in hand. "Surveillance footage shows Master Venicus was there."
"That f*cking perverted scumbag!" Tommy roared.
Jared wasn't surprised. He muttered, glaring southwest, "Damn you, Crescent Sect I'll make you all pay for this!"
Phoenix presented him with business contracts. Jared dismissed them, saying, "I'll leave these to you. I only want the contents of that bag."
Phoenix revealed centuries-old rare herbs. Jared had already sensed their potent spiritual energy. He wondered how the Jantz family obtained such a vast quantity. He hadn't found this many, even in Yeringham, the "City of Herbs," the largest herb source in Jazona. Their origin was clearly elsewhere.
