Chapter 378: Are You Scared?

Zachariah's aura surged, forcing Phoenix backward. She desperately channeled her internal energy, resisting, but his aura overwhelmed her, bringing her to her knees. The audience gasped. Tommy, previously elated, was now anxious.

Jared shouted, "Phoenix, retreat! You can't win!"

Phoenix scrambled to her feet and fled toward the arena's edge.

"Hmph! Not so fast!" Zachariah launched himself into the air, delivering a brutal kick that sent Phoenix flying like a broken kite, spewing blood.

Jared leaped, catching her mid-air. He infused her with spiritual energy. "Phoenix!"

He couldn't even defeat the Jantz family's bodyguards, let alone Zachariah. He vowed to train harder, to protect Phoenix in the future.

After receiving Jared's energy, Phoenix's complexion improved. She slowly opened her eyes.

"Mr. Chance, I—" she began, ashamed. She had failed her vow to defeat Zachariah.

"Save your breath," Jared interrupted. "Focus on living." He then instructed Tommy, "Take care of her."

Tommy nodded, lifting Phoenix and carrying her back to their seats. Holding his crush, he trembled; even injured, Phoenix felt his racing heart.

Zachariah swept his gaze across the audience. "Anyone else? From today, I am the leader of the Warriors Alliance! I will kill anyone who opposes me!"

His arrogance was unchecked. His victories over Bane and Phoenix had silenced any dissent.

Jared slowly floated into the air, gliding toward the arena. "Don't forget about me."

Zachariah responded, "Jared, our score will be settled later. Today concerns the Warriors Alliance. You're not a member; you have no right to interfere!" He wanted to claim leadership, not engage Jared.

Jared smirked. "I killed your daughter and her family. I'm here, and you refuse to fight. Are you scared?"

The audience gasped. They believed Jared was insane to provoke Zachariah after witnessing his power. They considered Jared, regardless of his talent, no match for an Internal Energy Grandmaster. Even exceptional training wouldn't allow him to surpass that level at his age.

Josephine watched Jared anxiously, fearing for his safety.
