Chapter 90: Kasonโ€™s Cavalry to the Rescue

Sierra remembered when she first met Jonathan; he was abroad and not in Maviston.

โ€œLooking for someoneโ€ฆโ€

Jonathan seemed a bit lost himself; it had been a while since he last checked up on Tano. With that thought, he glanced at Sierra. Both being prodigious young talents, he was curious whether Sierra or Tano was more formidable.

Sierra didnโ€™t continue to inquire about whom he was searching for but asked, โ€œSo, will you be staying at Northwind University?โ€

Jonathan shook his head. โ€œIโ€™ll be leaving soon.โ€

Truthfully, if it hadnโ€™t been for meeting Sierra, he would have left already. His initial trip to Maviston was partly a vacation and partly to search for Tano. After three years with no leads, he wasnโ€™t planning to continue; plus, he had found other rewards.

Thinking this, he turned to Sierra. โ€œWould you like to go out and see more of the world?โ€

With Sierraโ€™s intelligence, she could definitely attend a more prestigious institution where she would gain much more.

Sierra shook her head; she had no immediate plans to leave as she wanted to stay with Lily for the remainder of her life. Even if Lilyโ€™s health improved, she couldnโ€™t travel far.

Hearing Jonathan was leaving, she felt a bit sad but understood that a talent like him couldnโ€™t possibly stay in Maviston forever.

โ€œI hope I can complete my experiment before you leave.โ€

Sierra looked at Jonathan earnestly. He had helped her a lot, and she didnโ€™t know how to thank him. Someone like Jonathan lacked nothing, and she felt the best gift she could offer was to succeed in her medical research, proving her theories were correct.

As expected, Jonathan nodded approvingly. โ€œI look forward to that day.โ€

While they were talking, Dickson peeked his head out of the room. Jonathan gave him a glance and then got up to go back to his place.

Once he had left, Dickson stepped out, letting out a sigh of relief. โ€œDid Mr. Yeager leave?โ€

Seeing how scared he was, Sierra couldnโ€™t help but chuckle. โ€œWhy are you so afraid of him?โ€

Jonathan was actually very approachable.

Dickson ran a hand through his hair. โ€œI donโ€™t know, he just seems kind of intimidating.โ€

It wasnโ€™t anything Jonathan did specifically, but more about his aura that Dickson couldnโ€™t quite describe. Every time he saw Jonathan, he felt too intimidated to speak loudly.

Sierra thought he was just naturally scared of teachers and shook her head, asking if there was anything he didnโ€™t understand, then helped him with a question. Ever since Dickson realized how good her grades were, heโ€™d shamelessly come to her with every tough problem. The school didnโ€™t keep Sierra waiting too long; the next day, she received another call, summoning her to discuss matters.

The schoolโ€™s demeanor had shifted dramatically. They no longer insisted on her performing practical tests, nor did they mention withdrawing her admission, simply stating that everything previously was a misunderstanding.

Chapter 90: Kasonโ€™s Cavalry to the Rescue

โ€œWeโ€™ve thoroughly investigated the matter, and it turns out those were baseless accusations. Youโ€™ve been wronged during this time.โ€

โ€œRest assured, weโ€™ve identified and disciplined the individuals who started the trouble. Sierra, youโ€™re an inspirational figure worthy of emulation by our entire school,โ€ Wagner said, his face bright with an awkwardly swift change in attitude.

Sierra narrowed her eyes slightly, puzzled by the sudden shift in the schoolโ€™s stance overnight. She suspected someone had intervened.

Looking at Wagner and the others, she asked, โ€œAre you sure everything has been cleared up? There wonโ€™t be any more changes?โ€

โ€œOf course, of course!โ€ Wagner chuckled nervously.

Exiting the school gates and seeing a familiar car parked outside, Sierra finally understood why the school had so abruptly changed its stance.

The car door opened, and Kason stepped out. โ€œIs everything handled?โ€

Sierra glanced at him. โ€œDid you help?โ€

Kason spoke arrogantly. โ€œIt was just a small matter. If I had been in Maviston earlier, none of this would have happened.โ€

โ€œOnly the Xander family would watch you be mistreated. Forget it, theyโ€™re your family after all,โ€

He was even adept at sowing discord. Sierraโ€™s eyebrows arched as she looked at Kason. โ€œI donโ€™t like owing favors. How am I supposed to repay this?โ€

โ€œNo need to repay.โ€

Kason stared at Sierra, his gaze aggressive. โ€œI might be a scoundrel, but I make sure those I care about arenโ€™t bullied.โ€

โ€œTo celebrate, Iโ€™ve also prepared a surprise for you. I think youโ€™ll like it. What do you say? Want to check it out?โ€
