Chapter 86: Fainting with Frustration

Denise couldnโ€™t accept it! The more she thought about it, the worse she felt, and gradually, she found it hard to breathe. Though she often pretended otherwise, her health was genuinely poorโ€”a condition sheโ€™d had since the womb. Thinking of her biological parents only made Denise angrier; her breathing grew more labored, her vision darkened, and she passed out, gasping for air. Alone in her dorm room, she lay undiscovered for a long time until someone finally returned and rushed her to the hospital.

Sierra, oblivious to these events, saw it was about time to wrap things up; she turned off her livestream and looked towards Mr. Ricky. โ€œMr. Ricky, can we now prove Mr. Yeagerโ€™s innocence?โ€ She wasnโ€™t one for making scenes, but for Jonathan, she was willing to make an exception. Mr. Ricky, at this point, was speechless.

Evan watched Sierra with a complex expression and finally couldnโ€™t help but ask, โ€œHow do you know all this?โ€ Je it as I suspected? Is it because of him?

Recalling how Sierra used to desperately try to start conversations with him, which he always ignored, sometimes even telling her, โ€œWe have nothing to talk about. You wouldnโ€™t understand what I say, and Iโ€™m not interested in what you have to say. Stop bothering me.โ€ Later, he discovered that Sierra had secretly bought biochemistry books, but at the time, he hadnโ€™t paid it much mind. So, was it because of him?

Before he could voice his question, Sierra said, โ€œIt seems my affairs have nothing to do with you; Iโ€™m under no obligation to clear your doubts.โ€ After speaking, Sierra didnโ€™t wait for Evanโ€™s reaction and turned back to Ricky. โ€œMr. Ricky, you havenโ€™t answered my question yet; can my innocence be proven now?โ€

Ricky finally snapped back to reality, quickly saying, โ€œI never doubted Mr. Yeager, truly, Mr. Yeagerโ€ฆโ€ He wanted to say more, but Jonathan raised his hand, signaling him to stop, and said calmly, โ€œMr. Ricky, Iโ€™m aware of everything.โ€ This made Ricky inwardly cringe; he had inadvertently offended Jonathan with his earlier remarks.

โ€œRicky, since thereโ€™s no issue, I suppose I can continue attending school, right?โ€ Ricky tried to muster a smile, but failed. โ€œSierra, the school will discuss this and get back to you.โ€ He wasnโ€™t the final decision-maker, after all! He feared Sierra might turn on him, but to his surprise, she didnโ€™t make a fuss and said, โ€œThen Iโ€™ll await your response; hopefully, it wonโ€™t take too long.โ€

With that, she checked the time and prepared to leave. Evan instinctively wanted to follow, but just then, his phone rangโ€”it was a call from Deniseโ€™s classmate, informing him that Denise had fainted and was taken to the hospital, which threw him into a panic. โ€œOkay, Iโ€™m on my way.โ€

After hanging up, he hurriedly caught up to Sierra, urgently saying, โ€œDennyโ€™s passed out and been taken to the hospital; letโ€™s hurry and check on her!โ€

Chapter 1: Lamang with Frustration

Sierra scoffed, โ€œMr. Evan, are you confused? What? You still think Iโ€™m the Xander familyโ€™s server?โ€

Back when Denise was hospitalized, Sierra was expected to be there because everyone thought she was supposed toโ€ฆof Denise, and Denise particularly liked her. Thus, whenever Denise stayed in the hospital, Sierra had to serve. The Xander family would send loads of food, none of which Sierra liked, and she only got to eat after Denise was done. Even paid caregivers got wages; she got nothing. And if anything was even slightly amiss, the Zanders would react with such disappointment, as if she couldnโ€™t handle even this small task.

Stunned by her words, Evan instinctively wanted to argueโ€”he never saw her as a servantโ€”but remembering past instances, he found himself speechless, only able to watch Sierra walk away, heading to the hospital on his own.

When he arrived, Eleanor and Bradley were already there, their faces etched with worry. Dennyโ€™s condition didnโ€™t look good. โ€œHow is Denny?โ€ Evan asked. Eleanor sighed heavily and replied, โ€œShe had a cardiac arrest due to severe emotional distress. If her classmates had returned earlier, it could have been much worseโ€ฆโ€ Her eyes reddened with fear, and Bradley looked just as concerned.

Evan looked towards the hospital room, troubled. Was it all because of Sierra? He pursed his lips. While the Xander family gathered at the hospital, Sierra went to the lab, having spent the last few days with her grandmother and Dickson and neglecting her lab work.
