Chapter 82: When Exams Attack

โ€œYeah, they said just pass the exam and youโ€™ll be fine, but making it this hard is just setting people up to fail. They might as well just tell her to leave.โ€

โ€œLooks like Sierra got what she wanted; this was exactly the effect she was going for. Donโ€™t forget, the school tried to persuade her to leave, but she refused. The school is the victim here.โ€

Online, opinions were divided. One side felt the schoolโ€™s actions were justified; the other believed the school wasnโ€™t being fair. Regardless, the situation had reached a point of no return: Sierra had truly burned bridges with Northwind University.

Through gritted teeth, Ricky said, โ€œThis is our exam, and you can choose to give up.โ€

He had just conferred with the two vice-chancellors; they agreed that, no matter what, they had to find a way to get Sierra out. The vice-chancellors mentioned that although Sierra had severed ties with the Xander family, the family still seemed to care about her.

Honestly, he was regretting getting involved; had he known it would be this messy, he would have stayed out of it. All he wanted now was to get Sierra out of there.

Sierra glanced at him and said, โ€œWho said Iโ€™m giving up?โ€

With that, she picked up her pen and started writing, not looking at the camera again. She wrote quickly and with focus, and the tone in the comments section shifted.

โ€œEven so, doesnโ€™t she look kind of cool doing this?โ€

โ€œFeels a bit like a leading lady in a novel. Damn, does that make me the villain?โ€

โ€œSheโ€™s faking it, right? Writing that fast. I suspect sheโ€™s just writing nonsense.โ€

โ€œExactly! It definitely looks like she hasnโ€™t thought this through.โ€

โ€œI agree with the comment above, but still, thereโ€™s something impressive about her demeanor!โ€

โ€œAm I the only one who thinks Sierra is pretty good-looking? She looks better than the prettiest girl in the school, so sharpโ€ฆโ€

โ€œAgreed, Iโ€™ve been wanting to say that but was afraid of getting bashed.โ€

The comments were increasingly off-topic.

Jonathan glanced at the comments, then his gaze settled on Sierraโ€™s face, feeling some agreement with the students; Sierra was indeed pretty good-looking. Unaware of the ongoing discussion in the comments, Sierra quickly finished all the papers.

She capped her pen and looked at Ricky. โ€œIโ€™m done!โ€

Ricky checked the timeโ€”only forty minutes had passed, fifty minutes less than the allocated time. He didnโ€™t mean to brag, but not even a PhD kuden could finish in forty minutes.

Clearly, she must have filled it with gibberish.

Remembering what Wagner had mentioned, he announced, โ€œTo demonstrate fairness, we will have a teacher grade theโ€ฆโ€

Jon to upded

This was the only way to leave the Xander family with nothing to say. From the start, they didnโ€™t want to deal with Sierra, theโ€ฆ hot pucroโ€ฆ but they had no choice because of the overwhelming circumstances. He expected to see Sierra panic, but she remained composed throughout and simply stated, โ€œFor the grading, I request Mr. Yeager be present.โ€

โ€œMr. Yeager? Jonathan Yeager?โ€

Ricky looked at Sierra in surprise, then scoffed, โ€œStop joking. Do you think Mr. Yeager has as much free time as you?โ€

Chapter 82: When Exams Attack

WOW!

Their schoolโ€™s trump card was Jonathan. Originally, their school didnโ€™t have the means to lure him, but for some reason, he had reached out to them. Though just a visiting professor, his presence was a bragging point for them. Even their president couldnโ€™t readily summon Jonathan, let alone them.

Having him grade papers was preposterous!

Sierra furrowed her brows. Besides Jonathan, she didnโ€™t trust anyone else, but she realized having him grade papers was indeed an overqualification.

She was about to settle for a second choice, a well-respected, long-time professor from her department, when Rickyโ€™s phoneโ€ฆ

Whatever was said on the other end left Ricky looking oddly unsettled.

After hanging up, he glanced at Sierra and swallowed before saying, โ€œI just got word, Mr. Yeager is currently on campus. He heard about your request to have him oversee the grading, and he has agreed!โ€

A slight smile curled at the corners of Sierraโ€™s mouth. Jonathan was here today? She hadnโ€™t seen him around these past few days and thought he was still busy.

Seeing Sierraโ€™s reaction, Ricky felt an inexplicable unease. Surely she and Mr. Yeager didnโ€™t have some sort of connection?

And once again, the comments exploded.

โ€œIs that the Mr. Yeager Iโ€™m thinking of?โ€
