Chapter 345: No Way Out
Hearing those words, Maddox let out a cold laugh. โAmanda, youโve always spoiled him, indulged him. Anytime someone tried to discipline him, you stopped them. The Treno family canโt cover for him this timeโheโs really messed up.โ
โWhat kind of trouble could he have gotten into?โ Trevโs mother retorted. โHeโs not a bad kid, just a bit too playful.โ
And so what if he liked women? Just pay them off and be done with it.
โLook, why donโt you hear Maddox out first,โ Maddoxโs father interjected, knowing his son well enough to realize this wasnโt something minor. He frowned. โWhat exactly happened?โ
โFather, youโve probably already heard there was an incident at my birthday party today?โ
Everyone nodded slightly.
โSomeone was nearly assaulted. I investigatedโit was Trev.โ
At that, Trevโs mother cried out, โThatโs it? Thatโs what this is about? You said it yourselfโnearly. Nothing actually happened! And even if it did, we can settle it, canโt we?โ
โShut your mouth!โ Talhand, who had been silent until now, finally spoke. He knew that the guests invited to his grandsonโs party were all from influential families. Not a single one of them was ordinary.
โWhose family was she from?โ Talhand asked.
โIt was SierraโJonathanโs woman,โ Maddox answered.
The entire room went still. What? Jonathanโs woman? Everyone remembered clearly how Jonathan had dealt with the Zach family not long ago. And heโd gone head-to-head with the Goodman family too. Talhand had specifically asked his eldest grandson about it and learned that Sierra had been the reason for it all. From that alone, he understood how much Sierra meant to Jonathan. And now, someone from the second branch had gone and offended her?
Talhand couldnโt hold back. He picked up his cane and struck Trey with it.
Chapter 345: No Way Out
If beating this bastard to death would solve the problem, he wouldโve done it already. But he knew what Jonathan was like. This wasnโt something that would be easily settled.
With that in mind, Maddox stepped in and stopped Talhand. โGrandpa, hand him over to Jonathan.โ
โNoโno!โ Trevโs mother panicked.
โYou canโt hand Trev over to Jonathan! Maddox, Maddox, Iโm begging youโheโs your cousin! You canโt be this heartless! If you give him to Jonathan, he wonโt survive!โ She knew just how ruthless Jonathan could be.
Maddox responded coolly, โThis is the only way to keep him alive.โ Voluntarily handing Trev over was better than waiting for Jonathan to come for him.
โYou two are closeโtalk to him, tell him it wasโโ
Before she could finish, Talhand cut her off. โEnough! Maddox, do as you said.โ After all, it was their own fault for failing to raise their child properly. Heโd warned the second branch many times that spoiling the boy would lead to disaster, but they never listened. Maybe now theyโd finally learn their lesson.
Still, Trey was his grandson. Talhand knew heโd have to swallow his pride and beg Jonathan for mercy.
Maddox nodded, then brought up something even more crucial. โGrandpa, FatherโI had someone look into the two people Trev claimed were gossiping in the courtyard. We couldnโt find them.โ
The moment Trev had told his story, Maddox had sent someone to track down those two menโbut theyโd turned up nothing.
Trev, gasping in pain, still found the strength to protest. โI told the truth, Maddox. You have to believe meโI didnโt lie.โ
Maddox didnโt reply. He believed Trey wasnโt lying. His cousin might be reckless, but he was a coward at heartโespecially when it came to Jonathan. If Trey had known the woman was Sierra, thereโs no way he wouldโve laid a finger on her. And Treyโs presence in that courtyardโwhat a coincidence. Too much of a coincidence. Someone had orchestrated this.

Chapter 345: No Way Out
Caught in the crossfire. But now that Trev was involved, it wasnโt that simple. Trey was a member of the Treno family. Was someone trying to spark a rift between them and Jonathan? If this wasnโt handled properly, thatโs exactly what would happen.
Talhand had lived long enough to recognize the signs. After hearing everything, he made a swift decision. โYour father and I will investigate this. Right now, what matters most is going to Jonathan and explaining the truth.โ Better it come from them than from someone with an agenda.
Maddox didnโt waste a second. He headed straight for the hospital.
