Chapter 265: Youโre Not Alone
โThatโs it?โ Shane instantly lost interest. So it was the same old clichรฉโan absent father with a mistress and an illegitimate child, and the son couldnโt accept it. Typical tantrum.
Jade didnโt say much more. He didnโt know the full story himself. One thing the Wynn family did well was keeping their mouths shut. Very few details ever got out.
โThis might mean Mr. Wynn wonโt hand the family over to Jonathan now.โ A grandson this hard to manage? Anyone would hesitate. But Jonathan was the eldest. And the Wynn family had always passed leadership to the oldest. Now things had gotten tricky.
At that moment, the very man Shane was speculating about was at a boxing gym. Jonathan hadnโt brought Stone or the others into the ring. Instead, he was hammering the punching bags over and overโnonstop. In just ten minutes, heโd already wrecked several of them.
โThis isnโt sustainable,โ Maddox muttered.
โIโve already messaged maโam,โ Matco said. โSheโs on her way.โ
โHe probably doesnโt want to see Sierra right now,โ Stone said, worried. โThen what? Let him keep going like this? At this rate, he might head straight for his father and do something reckless.โ It wouldnโt be the first time Jonathan lost control. The guys exchanged uneasy glances. This was a tough situation.
Just then, Sierra arrived. She hadnโt wasted a second after Mateoโs call. The moment she walked in and saw the man in the ring, she barely recognized him. This wasnโt the Jonathan she knew. He was radiating fury, like a beast finally let out of its cage. Boom. Boom. Boom. Each punch hit like a thunderclap, shaking her chest like it had hit her own heart. Her stomach turned. She stood frozen for a moment before walking toward him.
โMaโam!โ Mateo quickly stepped in front of her. โTrust meโthis is not the time. Based on past experience, you do not go near him when heโs like this.โ Anyone who tried ended up regretting it. Badly.
โWeโre tough enough to handle it. Youโre not. One punch and youโre out.โ
โThis version of Jonathan isnโt the one you know,โ Maddox added.
โItโs fine,โ Sierra replied softly, brushing off their concern. She couldnโt handle seeing him so alone, like a wounded animal fighting the world by himself. Yes, he looked terrifying. But behind all that rage was an overwhelming loneliness that made her heart ache.
None of the guys expected Sierra to be so stubborn. Mateo immediately regretted calling her.
โPlease donโt let anything happenโฆโ If something went wrong, and Jonathan came to his senses later, they couldnโt imagine the fallout.
But Sierra wasnโt reckless. She didnโt step into the ringโshe just stood quietly at its edge. And only after Jonathan destroyed another punching bag did she finally speak.
โWell? Feel any better?โ
Jonathan glanced down at her, eyes cold and hard, the warmth she knew completely gone. Sierra didnโt flinch. She looked him dead in the eyes and asked again. โAny better? Or do you need to keep going?โ
Her calm, even tone pulled a sliver of reason back into Jonathanโs mind. He turned away, shut his eyes, and muttered, โGo.โ He didnโt want her there. At least, not right now.
โYouโre here. Where else could I possibly go?โ she said, then sat down right where she stood, wrapping her arms around her knees. โGo on. Let it out. All of it. Your anger. Your pain. Everything. Iโm staying right here with you. Iโm not going anywhere. Youโre not alone.โ
