Chapter 239: The Final Encounter

โ€œThis was all fake, wasnโ€™t it? From the very beginning?โ€ Kasonโ€™s voice was hoarse, his breathing erratic.

โ€œYes,โ€ Sierra admitted without hesitation. โ€œI approached you because I saw the video of you tormenting Daphne. Daphne helped me once.โ€

Kason let out a sharp laugh, his expression twisting. โ€œOh, it was all fake. Even what you said before was a lie. You donโ€™t actually enjoy danger, do you?โ€ His voice grew louder, his body trembling with fury. โ€œYou donโ€™t crave excitement at all! You tricked me!โ€

He thrashed against his restraints, seemingly numb to the pain. He had been deceived. For the first time, he had thought he had met someone who truly understood himโ€”his so-called soulmate. But now Sierra was telling him it had all been an illusion.

Sierra met his rage with a cold, indifferent gaze. โ€œIโ€™m a normal person, Kason. You, on the other hand, are an animal. You hurt innocent people, and that makes you worse than a beast.โ€

Kason stilled for a moment. Then, he let out a low, chilling laugh. His eyes locked onto Sierra with pure malice. โ€œYou spent three years in prison and still havenโ€™t woken up?โ€ he sneered. โ€œThis world is what it is. If you donโ€™t eat, you get eaten. How can you still be so naive?โ€

Sierra had no interest in debating morality with a monster. โ€œIf thatโ€™s all you wanted to say, this conversation is over.โ€ She stood up, ready to leave.

Kasonโ€™s voice stopped her. โ€œWhatโ€™s your relationship with Shane?โ€

Sierra turned back, her voice ice-cold. โ€œWe have oneโ€”untilโ€”โ€

Kason froze, then suddenly laughed again. His reaction made Sierra frown. Just as she was about to speak, he cut her off. โ€œDo you know where those peopleโ€™s bodies ended up?โ€

โ€œNoโ€”do you know where their ashes are?โ€

Sierraโ€™s fingers curled into a fist. Kason leaned forward as much as his restraints allowed, his voice dripping with malice. โ€œI had them all cremated. But their families never got their real ashes. What they received was nothing but flour mixed with some random debris. And those idiots cried their hearts out thinking they were holding their loved ones. But the real ashes? I flushed them down the sewer.โ€

Sierraโ€™s entire body went rigid. Kason saw the shift in her eyes and laughed.

โ€œWhat! You wanna hit me! Go ahead! Do it!โ€ He was taunting her, daring her to lose control.

Sierraโ€™s lips curled in a sneer. Then, without hesitation, she grabbed a chair and slammed it down on him. A loud crash echoed through the room. Kason let out a strangled gasp, his body jerking in pain. Sierra flexed her wrist and looked at him calmly. โ€œYou seemed eager to get hit. Iโ€™m just doing you a favor. Want another?โ€

Kason was already severely injured, and Sierra hadnโ€™t held back in the slightest. He tried to curl up, but with his hands and feet bound, even that small act was impossible.

In the surveillance room, Maddox let out a low whistle. โ€œWow. Sheโ€™s got a mean streak.โ€ He glanced at Johnathan, but Johnathan wasnโ€™t paying attention to him at allโ€”his eyes were fixed on the monitor, watching Sierra intently. Maddox smirked. His friend was definitely turning into a lovesick fool.

Sierraโ€™s mood lightened considerably after beating Kason to a pulp. She rolled her wrist, stretching it out. โ€œIโ€™ve wanted to do that since the moment I saw those videos.โ€ Kasonโ€™s face was twisted in agony; he glared at her but said nothing. Sierra had been ruthless. She hadnโ€™t gone for his faceโ€”she had aimed for the most painful spots on his body, the ones already bruised and battered. He couldnโ€™t even get the words out to curse her.

โ€œOh! So you do feel pain? You enjoy torturing others, but it turns out you donโ€™t like it when it happens to you.โ€

Kason bared his teeth but stayed silent. Sierra stared at him for another moment before losing interest. She wasnโ€™t about to become like him. Without another word, she turned and walked out.

Johnathan and Maddox were waiting just outside. Maddox gave her a thumbs-up. โ€œNot bad.โ€

Sierra suddenly felt a little guilty. She looked at Johnathan. โ€œDid I cause trouble?โ€

Johnathan took her hand and gently massaged her wrist. โ€œYou shouldโ€™ve used something other than your hands. Next time, let me teach you better ways to make someone suffer.โ€ His voice was completely serious.

Maddox coughed. โ€œCan you two at least pretend to have some restraint?โ€

Johnathan ignored him, pulling Sierra away. Maddox sighed as he watched them leave. โ€œYup. Johnathan being petty and possessive? That was never going to change.โ€
