Lucyโs eyes lit up. โThat would be wonderful! Whoever it is should consider themselves lucky to be a match for you. But why would Adam step outside to talk about it?โ
Carly frowned. โI donโt know.โ
Out in the hallway, Leo said in a low voice, โMr. Alvarez, weโve found a matching heart for Ms. Carly.โ
Adamโs eyes flickered with excitement. โWhoโs the donor?โ
Leo hesitated, his lips pressing together, reluctant to speak.
Adam frowned. โWhy arenโt you speaking?โ
Leo silently handed over the sealed file. โYou should take a look.โ
Adam tore open the envelope. The moment he saw the name inside, his eyes widened. Shock flashed across his face. โCeline?โ
Leo nodded. โYes, thatโs right. Ms. Celineโs heart is a perfect match for Ms. Carly.โ
Adam hadnโt thought it would be Celine. How could it be? He had been searching for a donor for Carly, knowing her condition was critical. However, he never expected the match to be Celine.
Leo lowered his voice. โMr. Alvarez, what now? You wouldnโt actually make Celine give up her heart to save Carly, right? Still, without Celine, Carly wonโt make it either. What should we do?โ
Adam was faced with an impossible choice; he didnโt know whether to choose Carly over Celine. He smirked, then after a long silence, said, โDonโt tell anyone about this.โ
Leo nodded. โUnderstood.โ
When Adam returned to the room, Carly looked up at him and asked, โAdam, where did you go? Did you find a match for me?โ
