Listen to this chapter:

She had already seen the photo Perry had sent. This was probably the worst day of the Tate family's lives, their absolute lowest point. They had used her father's sacrifice to achieve great success, but now they had fallen hard.

โ€œCeline,โ€ he said, โ€œI told them youโ€™re the only one who can save them, and asked them to beg you for help. Do you think theyโ€™ll come?โ€

Celine smiled confidently. โ€œThey will.โ€

She knew the Tate family well. When it came to money, they would humble themselves and beg. The thought of it would torture them.

โ€œCeline, if they beg you, what will you do?โ€

Celine inserted the red rose into a vase. โ€œIโ€™ve been waiting for them to approach me for a long time.โ€

After an hour, the Tate family arrived at Jupiter Heights. Sonia exclaimed in disbelief, โ€œDoes Celine live here?โ€

Carly, Tracy, and Lucy hadnโ€™t told Sonia that Celine now lived in a luxurious house and drove an expensive car. Truth be told, none of them were happy about begging Celine, but they had no choice.

Carly nodded. โ€œYes, Celine lives here.โ€

Sonia threw a tantrum. โ€œWeโ€™re living on the streets, and Celineโ€™s living like this! Why?โ€

Lucy said disdainfully, โ€œMom, Celineโ€™s using men to get ahead. Didnโ€™t you see her with Mr. Marshall? Heโ€™s practically worshipping her; he must have bought this place for her.โ€

Tracy said, โ€œGrandma, do you think Celine could buy a place like this herself? Donโ€™t envy her.โ€

Soniaโ€™s unhappiness subsided. โ€œLetโ€™s stop talking about this. We should plan what to say to Celine.โ€

Carly and Tracy didnโ€™t understand why James and Perry had sent them to Celine.

Shortly after, they reached Celineโ€™s door. Carly rang the doorbell. Nobody answered. She rang again. Slowly, the door opened, revealing Celine.

Celineโ€™s gaze fell on them. โ€œWhy are you here?โ€

Sonia smiled ingratiatingly. โ€œCeline, something happened at home, did you know?โ€

โ€œHome? What home? I recall you cut ties with me, so I have no home.โ€ Celine smiled.

Soniaโ€™s expression darkened. โ€œYou!โ€

Carly said, โ€œCeline, how can you say that? Your surname is still Tate. Now that Tracyโ€™s been scammed by that fake Dr. C, you should help us.โ€

Tracy said, โ€œThatโ€™s right, Celine. You shouldnโ€™t be so heartless. What benefit is there for you if the Tate family falls? If youโ€™re going to watch us become a joke, you donโ€™t deserve to call yourself human!โ€

Celine looked at Carly. โ€œAre you finished speaking?โ€

Before Carly could answer, Celine started to close the door.

โ€œCeline!โ€ Carly blocked the door. โ€œCeline, why are you closing the door?โ€

Celine smiled. โ€œCarly, what are you doing here? Are you here to lecture me on humanity? If Iโ€™m right, youโ€™re here to beg me for help.โ€

Celine scanned the Tate familyโ€™s faces, a half-smile on her lips. โ€œDo I need to teach you how to beg properly? If you canโ€™t, then this discussion is over.โ€
