Chapter 660 A Trap Set and Shattered

Paulโ€™s sneering voice echoed from every speaker around the room. โ€œCome on, Alan. Get up here.โ€

He grinned cruelly. โ€œThe woman you claim to love is right here, surrounded by the press, being called a whore. Didnโ€™t you say your love was real? That it wasnโ€™t some scheme to claw your way into the Powell family? If thatโ€™s true, why are you too scared to even step on stage?โ€

Taylorโ€™s eyes were bloodshot with rage. She knew exactly what Paul was doingโ€“he was cornering Alan, exploiting his loyalty to her. By dragging her into a media storm, Paul was trying to force Alan to take the fall and โ€œconfessโ€ just to protect her reputation. But that was unacceptable.

She and Alan had done nothing wrong. He was only her loyal bodyguardโ€“nothing more. There had been no affair, no betrayal. He didnโ€™t deserve to be crucified for something that never happened, even if it was for her sake.

Paul met her glare with a mocking look, completely unfazed by her fury.

Under the mounting pressure from the press, Alan finally stepped onto the stage. At this point, hiding would only make things worse. He frowned, scanning the sea of cameras and whispers, then turned toward Taylorโ€™s worried eyesโ€“and Paulโ€™s malicious smirk.

Taylor shook her head at him, her face full of anguish. Donโ€™t admit anything. Donโ€™t fall into his trapโ€ฆ

Alan stood tall. โ€œI am merely Miss Taylorโ€™s personal servant, trained by Mr. Gerado himself. My duty is to protect her. I would never dare harbor any personal feelings.โ€

Paul scoffed. โ€œStill denying it? Then how do you explain the photos? Did Mr. Gerado also tell you to protect her in bed?โ€

Alanโ€™s eyes flashed with fury. โ€œYou better have proof for those wordsโ€“or youโ€™re slandering my ladyโ€™s name! Those pictures are doctored. Iโ€™ve already called the police. This fake evidence will be exposed.โ€

Paul chuckled dismissively, utterly unbothered. He pointed to the floor. โ€œIf you want this to end, just kneel here and apologize. Say youโ€™ll never try to seduce my wife again, and Iโ€™ll let it go.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™ve gone too far, Paul!โ€ Taylor shouted. โ€œHe hasnโ€™t done anything!โ€

Alanโ€™s lips remained sealed. He couldnโ€™t plead guiltyโ€“doing so would tarnish Taylorโ€™s name.

Paul smirked. โ€œFine. Donโ€™t want to apologize? Then how about thisโ€”you say these photos are fake, right? Then prove it. Swear, right now, in front of everyone, that you have absolutely no feelings for Taylor, and that you will always remain her servant. And if one day, you do develop feelings for herโ€“then may she meet a terrible end. Do you dare?โ€

Gasps erupted from the media.

โ€œHeโ€™s using his wife as the wager? Doesnโ€™t seem like he loves her that much after allโ€ฆโ€

โ€œExactly. He couldโ€™ve said Alan would die if he fell for Taylorโ€“but instead he cursed his own wifeโ€ฆโ€

โ€œHonestly, I think Paul knows Alan really does like Taylor. Thatโ€™s why heโ€™s forcing this kind of oathโ€“to make Alan give up.โ€

Paul raised his hand like a showman. โ€œYes! Thatโ€™s exactly my point.โ€

He turned back to Alan. โ€œI love my wife. I donโ€™t want her manipulated by some nobody. If you swear now, sheโ€™ll give up on you and come back to me. But if you canโ€™t swear it, then we donโ€™t even need the policeโ€“your guilt will be clear.โ€

Taylorโ€™s heart raced. She stared desperately at Alan, silently begging himโ€“Donโ€™t do it. Donโ€™t listen to him. None of what he says matters.

In her earpiece, Yuniceโ€™s voice came through like a lifeline. โ€œTaylor, stay calm. I just messaged Alan. He wonโ€™t take the oath. The forensics team is almost there. These fake photos will be dealt with.โ€

Like a tranquilizer, Yuniceโ€™s voice calmed Taylorโ€™s storming thoughts. She forced herself to appear composed and glanced down at Alan. Sure enough, she saw him check his phone. He gripped it tightlyโ€“Taylor recognized that gesture. It meant he was conflicted, uncertain.

All she could do now was stare anxiously at the entrance to the press hall, praying the team Yunice had dispatched would arrive soon. Hurryโ€ฆ please, hurry.

As if hearing her thoughts, Yunice said in her ear, โ€œTheyโ€™re here.โ€

At that exact moment, police officers and forensic experts stepped into the room.

โ€œWho placed the report?โ€ asked one of the officers.

Alan immediately raised his hand. โ€œI did.โ€

The officers and a plainclothes investigator approached both parties to gather information.

Minus later, the technical team began analyzing the images wearing to deliver hard cupience thas could shift the dee once again.
