Chapter 634 The Trap and the Theft

Yunice stepped forward to Wendyโ€™s bedside, causing the sidekick to miss her chance.

Still determined, the sidekick bit her lip and moved in close to Yunice again.

The instructor, seeing Yunice, immediately treated her as the culprit. He snapped impatiently, โ€œNo matter how big your conflict was, you canโ€™t just attack a fellow student! That kick mightโ€™ve felt good in the moment, but do you realize youโ€™re facing disciplinary action?โ€

He barked, โ€œApologize to your classmate. Ask for her forgiveness!โ€

Wendy looked up, her eyes brimming with anger as she stared at Yunice.

โ€œApologize!โ€

Prompted by the instructor, Yunice turned and said, โ€œIโ€™m leaving.โ€

The instructor hadnโ€™t expected the seemingly docile Yunice to defy him so boldly.

โ€œI said apologize!โ€

Yunice ignored him and walked straight out of the infirmary.

Furious, the instructor chased after her, leaving Wendy behind.

Inside, Wendy and her sidekick exchanged a glance. The sidekick swallowed hard and nodded at herโ€”mission accomplished.

Meanwhile, the instructor caught up with Yunice and yanked the student badge from her chest. โ€œYouโ€™ll be disciplined for this!โ€

He turned and headed back toward the infirmary.

But when he looked up, the girl whoโ€™d claimed she had a spinal injury and screamed about internal bleeding was gone.

Wendy had vanished.

After the commotion, Yunice had no desire to return to class.

โ€œYunice?โ€

She turned to see Tommy carrying a towering stack of lab supplies.

โ€œWhy arenโ€™t you in class?โ€ he asked.

Yunice muttered, โ€œGot bitten by a dog.โ€

โ€œHuh?โ€

Tommy, ever the clueless bookworm, didnโ€™t catch the sarcasm. He dropped the supplies and rushed over to check on her. โ€œWhere? The infirmary doesnโ€™t stock rabies vaccinesโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll take you to the health center!โ€

Yunice sighed. โ€œNot literally. I got into it with a classmate during the break, so I didnโ€™t feel like going back.โ€

โ€œWho was it?โ€

โ€œThat girl Wendy,โ€ Yunice said. โ€œThe one who asked you a question at the restaurant. I guess she felt I stole her thunder in front of you that day, so sheโ€™s been targeting me in class. I lost my temper and kicked her chair. She dragged it to the infirmary and now the teacher wants to punish me.โ€

Tommy frowned. โ€œThis has to do with me too. Donโ€™tโ€”Iโ€™ll talk to the instructor and explain everything.โ€

He bent to gather the supplies again. โ€œIf youโ€™re free, come help me bring these to the supply room. Then weโ€™ll go to the academic office.โ€

Thinking of the badge that had been taken from her, Yunice nodded.

She helped carry some of the materials, and together they walked to the supply room.

At the same time, Wendy and her sidekick sneaked into the music room. When they saw the figure cradling a violin, they beamed.

โ€œMs. Nora, we did it!โ€

The violin screeched to a halt.

Nora set her violin and bow aside.

Wendy strutted over, proudly presenting a phone to Nora.

Nora reached out and took it, eyes downcast. โ€œThis is Yuniceโ€™s phone?โ€

Wendy nodded. โ€œFind someone to crack the passcode. Once you read her messages, youโ€™ll see what kind of loose woman she is.โ€

Nora nodded. โ€œWith this as supplemental evidence, my family will make sure sheโ€™s properly โ€˜educated.โ€™โ€

She pulled a fancy perfume bottle from her bag. โ€œHere, take this. Thanks for helping me.โ€

Wendy beamed. โ€œYouโ€™re too kind. I was just doing a good deed. Think of it as saving a lost girl.โ€

Nora said nothing, but noticed Wendy sneaking glances at Yuniceโ€™s phoneโ€”clearly wanting to stick around and see the contents. Nora casually slipped the phone into her pocket.

Wendyโ€™s smile froze. She had no choice but to leave with her sidekick.

Only once they were gone did Nora begin attempting to unlock Yuniceโ€™s phone.

Back in the supply room, Yunice and Tommy finished putting the materials away.

When Yunice reached into her pocket to check the time, her fingers came up empty.

Thatโ€™s when she remembered the odd moment in the infirmaryโ€”how that sidekick kept lurking behind her and brushed up against her.

She snorted. โ€œStealing my phone, huh?โ€

Tommy clapped his hands clean. โ€œCome on, letโ€™s go to the academic office.โ€

โ€œYeah,โ€ Yunice replied, saying nothing about the missing phone. They were headed there anywayโ€”might as well address it all at once.

But when Tommy grabbed the door, it wouldnโ€™t open.

He tugged againโ€”nothing. It felt like it had been chained shut from the outside.

This kind of lock wasnโ€™t something you could pick.

Tommy blinked. โ€œWho locked the door?โ€

Yunice glanced through the crack and caught a glimpse of a school uniform swishing by in the hallway.

Her voice turned cold. โ€œAnother prank.โ€
