Chapter 551: Silence at All Costs

Yuniceโ€™s expression turned even colder. โ€œNo one is to tell Wyatt what happened tonight.โ€

The two men in black froze.

โ€œFirst, you failed to protect me. Second, I let myself fall into someoneโ€™s trap. If you go reporting this to Wyatt, both sides are going to take the fall. Are you sure thatโ€™s what you want?โ€

Their faces twitched with awkwardness.

She was right. They had failed their jobโ€“even if Yunice walked away unharmed, there was no escaping punishment once Wyatt found out.

Yunice raised her eyes. โ€œNot a word of this leaves here. If I find out otherwise, donโ€™t blame me for reporting you and making the consequences worse.โ€

The two bodyguards were speechless.

After a tense silence, they both glanced nervously toward Yuniceโ€™s car.

Yunice followed their gazeโ€“inside, Elianna was curled up like a frightened animal, phone pressed to her ear.

She turned to the bodyguards. โ€œYou two head back.โ€

Then she walked to the car.

But the door was locked.

Reaching through the half-open window, she unlocked it from inside, pulled the door open, and slid into the driverโ€™s seat. Without a word, she snatched the phone from Eliannaโ€™s hand and ended the call.

Elianna shrieked in surprise, then blinked hard when she saw who it was. โ€œYouโ€”youโ€™re alive?โ€

She had just been about to report Yuniceโ€™s death to Wyatt. Now she stared at her with sheer terrorโ€”this woman had taken down a man like Paul with her bare hands. She was terrifying.

Yunice looked at the call log. The call to Wyatt had only lasted three seconds. Elianna hadnโ€™t had time to spill anything yet.

She turned her head. โ€œWhat did you hear just now?โ€

Elianna, not thinking, blurted out, โ€œI heard everything you said to Paulโ€”Paul said your brother was framed, that the real one who killed Elsie wasโ€“โ€

She didnโ€™t get to finish. A force slammed into her, smashing the back of her head into the window.

Yunice had lunged forward and clamped her hands around Eliannaโ€™s neck.

Eliannaโ€™s face flushed red. Her breaths caught in her throat, panic and fear written all over her face.

She hadnโ€™t expected Yunice to attack herโ€”she didnโ€™t even know what sheโ€™d done wrong. Was it because she ran off and didnโ€™t help?

Yunice squeezed tighter, her voice low and sharp. โ€œYou didnโ€™t hear anything tonight. And if you did, you better bury it. If you breathe a single word to anyone, Iโ€™ll kill you.โ€

Elianna was shaking.

Yunice let go.

Elianna gasped and tried to bolt, but the doors had already been locked by Yunice. She scrambled at the handle to no avail.

Yunice sat calmly beside her, watching. Then she handed Elianna her phone back and said coldly, โ€œCall Wyatt. Tell him we were in a car accident and he needs to come pick us up. Now.โ€

Elianna gaped. โ€œHuh?โ€

She didnโ€™t understand what Yunice meant.

Yuniceโ€™s eyes dropped to hers, icy and threateningโ€”like she could kill without blinking.

Elianna burst into tears. Her voice trembled. โ€œIโ€“Iโ€™m stupid, okay? I donโ€™t understand what youโ€™re sayingโ€”Please, tell me exactly what to say!โ€

Yunice snatched the phone, dialed Wyatt, then pressed it to Eliannaโ€™s ear.

Caught off guard, Elianna froze. She had no plan, no scriptโ€”panic gripped her throat.

Wyattโ€™s voice came through the line, calm but with an edge: โ€œYouโ€™re with Yunice?โ€

Heโ€™d been notified by his security team that the two had gone out together.

And when Elianna called earlier, the call had lasted just three seconds before being cut off. That almost never happened.

So heโ€™d gotten in his car immediately.

Elianna looked to Yunice, overwhelmed with fear. She sobbed, โ€œYโ€“Yeah, Iโ€™m with Yuniceโ€ฆโ€

Her voice trembled with real fearโ€”every nerve in her body broadcasted her panic.

Wyattโ€™s voice tightened. โ€œWhat happened?โ€

Elianna glanced at Yunice again, then parroted the line sheโ€™d been told. โ€œWeโ€”we were in a car accident, Wyatt, come get us, please!โ€

On the other end of the call, the sound of tires screeching echoed faintly. Wyatt was already driving.

His tone dropped. โ€œIs Yunice okay?โ€

Elianna looked to her again. She hadnโ€™t been told how to answer that one.

Then Yuniceโ€™s voice came through steadily from the side. โ€œIโ€™m fine. Donโ€™t worry. Eliannaโ€™s just a bit shaken.โ€

Wyatt finally relaxed a bit. Then, โ€œCan the car still move? If not, get out and wait on the road.โ€

Yunice replied, โ€œJust a scratch. Nothing serious.โ€

Wyatt said firmly, โ€œSend me your location. Iโ€™ll be there soon.โ€

โ€œOkay,โ€ Yunice answered.

She was about to hang up when Wyattโ€™s voice returned, sharp and commanding.

โ€œDonโ€™t hang up until I get there.โ€

He needed to hear her breathing. Needed to know she was still okay.
