Listen to this chapter:

When everyone noticed Owen coming, they stiffened up a bitโ€“but still didnโ€™t look like they took him seriously.

Owen walked up to Mr. Terrance. โ€œUncle.โ€

Mr. Terrance grunted, rubbing his wrist. โ€œMy wristโ€™s still sore from what that Yunice girl did to me. Donโ€™t you have anything to say about that?โ€

Owen replied. โ€œIโ€™ll have the hospitalโ€™s doctor take a look at it for free.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s it?โ€ Mr. Terrance took a deep breath, then stood up and pulled Owen aside, lowering his voice. โ€œCut the crap. Just be honestโ€“did that girl Yunice marry into money or not?โ€

Owen frowned and immediately denied it. โ€œNo.โ€

โ€œStill pretending? If she didnโ€™t have some rich backer, would you be this scared of her today? That wealthy woman she came withโ€“did you see that ring on her hand? Just one of those could buy Cloud Hospital. Who is she, really? And why the hell would she take a liking to Yunice?โ€

Owen gave his great-uncle a strange look. So thatโ€™s what he was afterโ€“trying to build a connection with Gill.

Too bad heโ€™d miscalculated. The one with real money was Yunice. And Yunice would never let him get away with anything.

When Owen didnโ€™t respond, the old man snapped. โ€œIf youโ€™re trying to hog resources for yourself, donโ€™t think Iโ€™ll let that slide!โ€

Owen, annoyed, said, โ€œThere really isnโ€™t anything. And even if there were, you wouldnโ€™t be able to use it. I canโ€™t even use it myself.โ€

Mr. Terrance barked, โ€œYou havenโ€™t even told me who that rich woman is. How do you know I canโ€™t use it?โ€

As long as he could find out her identity, heโ€™d cling on like a leech. Heโ€™d try every trick in the bookโ€“sooner or later, sheโ€™d crack.

The Saunders family was finished. He needed a new tree to cling to.

Owen was so fed up, he finally laid it all out. โ€œThat so-called rich woman used to be our maid. All those jewels and designer clothes? Yunice bought them for her.โ€

โ€œPlease. I know exactly what Yunice is worth. She doesnโ€™t even wear pearlsโ€“sheโ€™s dirt poor.โ€

Owen threw up his hands. โ€œShe doesnโ€™t wear jewelry because she doesnโ€™t like it. She married Wyatt. Wyatt! Do you even know who that is? One of the top fifty richest people in the world. There, I said it. Thatโ€™s her identity. Go suck up to her if you wantโ€“but stop leeching off the Saunders family!โ€

The old man yanked Owen back, sneering. โ€œStill lying to my face?โ€

โ€œYunice? A hand-me-down that even the Powells didnโ€™t want? And Wyatt would take her?โ€

Owen snapped, โ€œSo what if heโ€™s into that kind of thing?โ€

Mr. Terrance retorted, โ€œYou can lie about anyone else and I might believe youโ€“but Wyatt? No way!โ€

Owen laughed bitterly. โ€œSince when do you know Wyatt so well, Uncle?โ€

Oneโ€™s a powerhouse. The otherโ€™s dirt under his shoe. How the hell would he know him?

Mr. Terrance smirked. โ€œI donโ€™t know Wyatt, I know his brother-in-law.โ€

Owen found that even funnier. Wyatt only had two brothers-in-lawโ€“him and Oscar. Where was this โ€œbrother-in-lawโ€ coming from!

Seeing that Owen clearly didnโ€™t know, the old man spilled it. โ€œYou know Morgan, right?โ€

Owen hadnโ€™t had much contact with Morgan, but Cloud Hospital did have plenty of interactions with the Johnson family. Otherwise, Yunice wouldnโ€™t have gotten mixed up with them.

Mr. Terrance said. โ€œOne time I had to handle something for the hospital, and I went to Morgan. He got drunk and started braggingโ€“said Wyatt was his brother-in-law. Said that guyโ€™s so in love with his sister heโ€™d do anything for her. Anything she wanted, sheโ€™d get.โ€

Then he asked Owen, โ€œIs Yunice Morganโ€™s sister?โ€

Owen scoffed. โ€œMorgan doesnโ€™t have a sister. You really believe drunk talk?โ€

He was mentally and emotionally drained, in no mood to keep arguing.

After everything that happened today, Owen wasnโ€™t planning to let any of those relatives attend his wedding anyway.

When he went back upstairs, Peggy blocked Mr. Terrance and started cussing everyone out. In just a few minutes, she chased all the freeloaders out.

Meanwhile, Elsie quietly followed Owen upstairs.

โ€œOwen,โ€ she said, closing the door behind her. โ€œMr. Terrance and the others all have shares in Cloud Hospital. Judging by todayโ€™s scene, I think theyโ€™ve heard rumors weโ€™re thinking of sellingโ€“and they want a piece.โ€

Cloud Hospital had gotten major subsidies because of its location near the medical zone, and it was doing better than ever.

But Owen knew this boom wouldnโ€™t last. When things cooled off, the hospital would fall back into a slumpโ€”and by then, itโ€™d be worthless.

If they were going to sell, now was the timeโ€“while it was still profitable.

But once they sold, those parasites would take half the money. No matter how, the Saunders family would lose out.

He clenched his fist and muttered. โ€œWe never shouldโ€™ve let those old bastards invest in the hospital.โ€

Elsie tried to console him. โ€œWasnโ€™t it because Dadโ€™s relatives kept saying you werenโ€™t good enough? That nothing you did was right? The only ones who supported you unconditionally were Uncle and hisโ€ฆโ€
