Chapter 470 The Tables Have Turned

Plan B only worked as emergency contraception within three days after sex. For her, the worst it would do was mess with her hormones a little.

Clearly, the pill hadnโ€™t been meant for her from the start. It was something they threw in at the last minute.

Which meant the original target wasโ€”

Yunice glanced at Peggy and smiled. โ€œLooks like someone doesnโ€™t want you getting pregnant.โ€

Peggyโ€™s expression darkened.

Owen saw things escalating fast and shouted at Yunice, โ€œStop trying to change the subject!โ€

โ€œShut up!โ€ Peggy barked, cutting him off.

She wasnโ€™t that stupid. She turned a cold gaze to Elsie and sneered. โ€œYeah, you didnโ€™t know Yunice was coming. So the pill was for me.โ€

She strode over and grabbed Elsieโ€™s ear, twisting it so hard the girl had to bend over, screaming.

Peggy snarled, โ€œThese hands of yours donโ€™t know how to behave? Want me to chop them off for you?!โ€

Owen rushed forward, ready to fight, but Peggy was prepared. She snatched the fruit knife off the table and shouted, โ€œTouch me, and Iโ€™ll stab you where you stand!โ€

Owen froze.

Peggy scoffed. โ€œI thought you all were real tight with Yunice. I was even thinking of being nice to you for her sake. But this? You treat her like garbage. Then I donโ€™t owe you anything.โ€

She had been holding back out of concern for Yuniceโ€“after all, these people were her family. She didnโ€™t want to make things awkward for her.

But clearly, Yunice wasnโ€™t going to bat for them.

Which meant she could do whatever she wanted with them now.

Still holding onto Elsieโ€™s ear, Peggy pointed the knife at Owen and called back to Yunice, โ€œIโ€™m just helping you teach these brats a lesson. Youโ€™re not mad, right?โ€

Owen saw how careful Peggy was being with Yunice and quickly pleaded, โ€œYunice, make her stop! Say something!โ€

Yunice looked at him leisurely, dragging out her words on purpose. โ€œWhy would I be mad? The worse they have it, the better I feel.โ€

With that, Peggy dragged Elsie into the kitchen.

Slam!

The door shut behind them, and everything went dead quiet.

Owen and Lily both went pale. No one had any idea what Peggy might do to Elsie in there.

They rushed toward the kitchen, desperate to save her.

But someone blocked their way.

Owen and Lily glared at Yunice, rage and panic on their faces. โ€œMove!โ€

They looked like they were ready to punch her if she didnโ€™t.

This was the Saundersโ€™ houseโ€“Owenโ€™s turf. He always acted like that gave him the right to do whatever he wanted to Yunice, without worrying about consequences.

He thought Yunice would back down, that sheโ€™d step aside.

Instead, she calmly pulled out her phone and hit a speed dial number.

Owenโ€™s eyes widened. He lunged for the phone.

But just before he could grab it, the call connected.

Wyattโ€™s voice came through. โ€œWhatโ€™s going on?โ€

Owen froze. If Yunice so much as hinted that she was being bullied here, Wyatt would show up with peopleโ€“and weapons.

Owen started shaking his head at her, pleading with his eyes.

Donโ€™t snitchโ€ฆ Please, donโ€™t snitchโ€ฆ

Yunice watched him with amusement, then smiled into the phone and said slowly, โ€œNothing. Just felt like hearing your voice.โ€

Wyatt got up on the other end. โ€œIโ€™ll be home in twenty minutes.โ€

Owen and Lily both looked stunned by how seriously Wyatt took Yunice.

Lily especially stared at her, confused. How had someone as ordinary as Yunice gotten Wyatt wrapped around her finger?

If she had this kind of power, why hadnโ€™t she used it on Paul back then?

Why had she let Elsie take her place so easily?

The more Lily thought about it, the more convinced she became that Elsie hadnโ€™t taken Paul because she was better. It was because Yunice never tried to fight for him in the first place.

Yunice spoke lazily into the phone. โ€œIโ€™m at the Saundersโ€™ house. Come pick me up.โ€

Wyatt gave a short โ€œOkay,โ€ and didnโ€™t hang up. They could hear the ding of an elevator on his end.

Yunice hung up.

Then she turned to Owen and Lily, her expression cocky and defiant.

She might as well have been saying, Go ahead. Lay a finger on me. I dare you.

Owen and Lily stood frozen. Not one step forward.

Because they knewโ€“no matter what happened now, even if they tied Yunice up and saved Elsieโ€“once Wyatt arrived, thereโ€™d be hell to pay.
