Chapter 451 Family Drama
Peggyโs tone instantly turned sweet. She grabbed Elsieโs hands and smiled warmly. โIโm your sister-in-law, youโre my little sisterโweโre going to be family.โ
Elsie yanked her hands back in disgust. โIโm not family with you! Iโm here for my Owen!โ
With that, she shoved past Peggy and stormed into the room.
The place was a disaster. Womenโs underwear was scattered all over the floor. Elsieโs face went pale as her gaze fell on the red marks on the bedโฆ
What theโฆ?!
She stared at Owen, who looked like death, then choked out, โOwen, youโฆโ
Before she could finish, her voice broke, tears filling her eyes. She turned and ran out of the hotel like sheโd just been deeply humiliated.
โElsie!โ Owen called out, panicked, and chased after her without a second thought.
Peggy stood frozen, unable to stop him in time.
Stunned, she muttered, โWasnโt she supposed to be his little sister? Whyโd she act like I stole her man? Whatโs wrong with these two?โ
Owen jammed his hands between the closing elevator doors and squeezed inside.
Inside the descending elevator, Elsieโs eyes were red and puffy from crying. โWhyโd you come after me? Donโt you care about your girlfriend?โ
โSheโs not my girlfriend!โ Owen said quickly.
Elsie snapped, โYou slept with her and youโre saying sheโs not your girlfriend? What, did you pay for it or something?โ
Owen couldnโt even begin to defend himself. โItโs complicated. Itโs not what you thinkโฆโ
Elsie pressed on. โIt doesnโt matter what I think. The real question is, are you going to marry her? If you do, will you still treat me the same?โ
Owen frowned and answered right away. โStop overthinking. Youโre my sister. No matter who I marry, Iโll always treat you well.โ
Elsie sniffled. โWhat if your wife and I argue? Who would you side with?โ
Without hesitation, Owen said, โYou, of course. Youโre always so reasonable. If thereโs a conflict, itโs definitely not your fault.โ
That finally got a smile out of her through the tears. She pressed the elevator button. โThen letโs go check on your girlfriend. She seemed pretty anxious.โ
Owen held the doors open, frowning. โWhy do you care about her? Sheโs not my girlfriend!โ
Elsie said quietly, โShe doesnโt seem like someone whoโs gonna let go easily. As another woman, maybe I can help you deal with her.โ
Owen hesitated. The look in Elsieโs eyes was sincere and honestly, he really did want to get rid of Peggy.
Peggy thought they werenโt coming back. She had just finished dressing when Owen and Elsie barged in with serious expressions.
Especially Elsieโshe walked in like she was in charge, standing right in front of Owen and addressing Peggy directly. โHi. Iโd like to talk to you.โ
Peggy gave her a quick once-over, completely unfazed. โSure.โ
The two of them went to a different room, leaving Owen behind.
Once the door closed, the air between them turned tense.
Elsie sneered. โMy brother already told me everything. You used dirty tricks to try and trap him.โ
โSo? What do you want from him?โ
Peggy gave a theatrical shrug and replied, โDid his little buddy personally tell you I used dirty tricks?โ
She stepped up to Elsie, her tone mocking. โIf that thing wasnโt excited, would it have touched me? What now? Play the victim after the fact and dump all the filth on me?โ
Elsie hadnโt expected Peggy to be so shameless. โYou-โ
โYou what?โ Peggy cut in. โIf he doesnโt marry me, Iโll report him for rape. Do what you want.โ
Elsie reached out. โShow me the video. I canโt judge if you really have proof without seeing it.โ
Peggy laughed even louder. โWow, youโve got no shame at all. You actually want to watch your own brotherโs sex tape?โ
โYou!โ Elsieโs face turned red. โThen Iโll let Owen watch it himself!โ
Peggy shrugged. โWanna see it? Ask a judge.โ
Elsie realized soft tactics wouldnโt work and switched to hardball. She clenched her teeth and said in a low voice, โDonโt think marrying Owen will be some kind of win. In the Saunders family, I come first. My momโs second. Owen is third. If you ever step into our house, youโll be nothing but a servant.โ
Peggy stared her right in the eyes, not backing down. โStatus depends on how well I fight for it. If I end up at the bottom, that just means I wasnโt good enough.โ
