Chapter 333 Honor Student +8 Pearls

The whole cheating incident fizzled out online. With no updates or follow-ups, people quickly forgot.

Meanwhile, Yunice got back on track and threw herself into the lab, shadowing Laurie and observing the use of advanced equipment and ongoing PhD-level research projects.

Laurie was a stickler. No matter how eager Yunice was to try the equipment herself, Laurie wouldnโ€™t let her touch anything. She could only watch.

Time flew by in those busy, productive days, and before long, it was score release day.

Everyone โ€“ except for the Saunders family โ€“ was anxious on Yuniceโ€™s behalf.

Yunice sat in front of the computer, Wyatt standing behind her, arms braced on her chair. She typed in her info and hit โ€œSearch.โ€

Wyatt leaned in, visibly more invested than she was. But when the scores came up, his brows slowly knit together. โ€œWhat the hell?โ€

Yunice, holding the mouse, froze too.

Her phone rang. It was Carl. She picked up. โ€œHey.โ€

โ€œDid your score come out?โ€ Carl asked.

Yunice hesitated. โ€œSomethingโ€™sโ€ฆ off.โ€

Carl picked up on her lack of excitement and tried to comfort her. โ€œItโ€™s okay if it didnโ€™t go well. Thereโ€™s always next year.โ€

Freyaโ€™s voice piped up from the background. โ€œDidnโ€™t you say you felt good about it? You even threw a party. Was it the cheating scandal that messed you up?โ€

If that was the case, then all that confidence and celebration wouldโ€™ve just been a giant flop.

Yunice stared at the screen, then glanced up at Wyatt and muttered, โ€œI think I got flagged.โ€

Wyatt frowned. โ€œFlagged? You think someoneโ€™s sabotaging you?โ€

Before Yunice could reply, Victorโ€™s voice drifted through the phone. โ€œTop ten scorers in Silverburgh get their results concealed. Itโ€™s a standard privacy protocol to avoid public hype and pressure around the โ€˜perfect scoreโ€™ kids. Keeps the process fair.โ€

Wyattโ€™s jaw tightened.

Yunice, sensing his pride was wounded, rushed to explain. โ€œI didnโ€™t even know they did that. This is a first for me too.โ€

Wyatt didnโ€™t look any better.

Three years ago, Yunice had taken the SAT, but her results were stolen and used by Elsie. She hadnโ€™t even been allowed to check her own score.

Looking at where Elsie ended up academically, it was obvious Yunice had scored pretty damn high back then too.

โ€œTop ten in the province?โ€ Carl and Freya both exploded on the other end of the line.

They figured sheโ€™d done well โ€“ but top ten? That was insane.

Yunice blinked. โ€œWhat are you doing?โ€

He looked at her, serious. โ€œProud husband moment.โ€

โ€œMy wifeโ€™s a genius. The world deserves to know.โ€

Yunice awkwardly rubbed her temple.

After checking her scores, Wyatt even started walking differently โ€“ like he was carrying a national treasure.

He called Laurie into his office and practically shoved the screenshot in her face. โ€œYou see this? Thatโ€™s the kind of academic โ€˜lackโ€™ my wife has.โ€

Laurie rolled her eyes so hard they nearly got stuck, but she clearly started treating Yunice a little better after that.

The rest of the week, Yuniceโ€™s phone didnโ€™t stop ringing โ€“ offers from universities poured in.

But her heart had long been set. She wanted to go to Med U.

Word spread fast. In circles that relentlessly tracked Wyattโ€™s every move, it wasnโ€™t long before the Powell family found out about Yuniceโ€™s score too.

Silence fell over the whole Powell house.

No one could believe it.

The woman they used to ridicule as a crazy person, the same one theyโ€™d treated like garbage to insult Wyatt, was now practically glowing.

Top ten in the province?

Paul had never cared much about school, but even back in the day, only Taylor had managed scores like that. Now Yunice was matching her.

When Paul heard the news, he got stuck being Grandpaโ€™s verbal punching bag again. He tried to defend himself. โ€œYunice always had decent grades. You guys just misjudged her. Her only real issue was mental illness. Once that was treated, sheโ€™s not different than anyone else. I was the one who said she wasnโ€™t a good match for Wyatt.โ€

The old man slammed the table. โ€œYou were wrong either way. And look at the fake you ended up with. You really donโ€™t know how she got her diploma? You think someone like thatโ€™s going to help you get anywhere?โ€

Linda chimed in coldly, โ€œI heard it was Yunice who reworked the new formula for Anning Heart Tabs. We were planning to use that to hit Wyatt hard, and she turned it into a win. You really think a good spouse isnโ€™t crucial to success?โ€

The room fell silent again.

No one had anything left to say.
